Ooops!! I put the wrong section, we didn't stay in the 60's , lol , we stayed in the 50's!!
--------

Well I just arrived home from Orlando :( Great trip, GREAT HOTEL, great cast members, everything was awesome. Later or tommorow when I have more time I'll write a full trip report!

We are in the 50's section, facing Hourglass Lake and the semi-constructed building on the Legendary Years side. Basically it was a lake-view with no noise and a nice open view!

The whole layout was awesome, buildings looked great, foodcourt was great, and the cast members were great.

I like the word great if you haven't noticed.

Well have a good day...time to plan winter 2004 trip (I always plan rigth after I get back and we never end up going till the next summer, but what's there to loose)

Mike

So glad to hear that you liked the POP. We were there in Feb and loved it too. I was a little uneasy about staying at a value after staying at the WL last year. We were in the 50's section facing the bowling pin pool and it could not have been nicer. I do believe that everyone should at least visit this resort just to see the memorabilia.

Ooops we stayed in the 50's too, for some reason 60's kept popping ni my head. That pool was awesome and having it around the corner was great! Perfect temperature and not too crowded!!

GREAT to hear that...we just got back from WL (got chased home early by the Hurricane) and I've already booked POP for 12/1-12/5. Since Lady and the Tramp are our favorite Disney characters, there's no doubt we'll be staying in the 50's section, too (hopefully:) )

We are going to stay at POP in Jan and are booked in the 60's buildings. Is it better to stay in the 50's? If so is there a location to request?

Thanks,

Thanks,

I was in the 50's , not the 60's like I originally said and to be honest save yourself the $10 a night or more (not sure how much it is when you go) and ask to stay in the 50's. Half the rooms in the 50's face the 60's and are the same distance/little closer/little farther. Some of the 60's rooms are pretty far back, eliminating the whole point of paying the extra $$$.

We are booked in October for the 70's building. How does this compare?

50's and 70's both seem to the best deal/bet for staying at POP. Both are VERY close to all the pools and the main building.

Just so you know, you cannot be guaranteed a specific decade unless you book preferred. You can request the 70's, but it's not guaranteed.

Thats what I meant to say - We requested the 70s but will be happy with whatever we get. Last time we were in the 90s ( 1 night ) and also enjoyed that.:Pinkbounc

Alright, cool... just as long as you know... :) working front desk, I'd always get guests who would get upset when thier travel agent would promise them a certain building, (even the 60s) when they were just a standard reservation.
