I am happy to inform you, ( well some of you), that DVC actually listen to complaints about those studios and I think the problem has been fixed. the closet is bigger, there is a little alcove next to the closet, and storage under the bed and the coffee table can be used for storage of a suitcase as well. In short, we no longer had to keep suitcase in the car, and brought them into the room , no problem. Would I stay there for more than a couple days, probably not, would I stay with more than 3 people, NOPE. as the beds are double beds not queen. Plus the sofa is not a pull out, but a double size murphy bed pulls down over the top of it and is very comfortable, and I am picky about beds. I slept well.
Still no room service which was a bother for us, but we are old. If you are in good shape, and after walking for literal miles around the parks, then another 3/4 mile from Morea back to main building to pick up your food( there are NO reservations available .) you will be fine. WE ( again with the old) are not. Good thing we had bottles of water with us, and instant oatmeal because that hike in the am ... I would have gone hungry, LOL> OH, bought one bottle of water, $3.29 cents. for a reg. size bottle of water . ( I can't).
The do have Honolulu cookies in the market ,( main building), any one who has been to Hawaii will understand, those who have not, these little flavored shortbread cookies are so freakin' good! We talk about them at home, and were so excited to find them at the Hotel! We ate them all while watching Survivor finale. Can't beat seeing the fireworks from your own balcony.
New things we found out; the studio's are now lock off, so if the poly is your fav. and you have a bigger group you could do tow rooms with lock off option instead of those point rich bungalows. Also, info from on site DVC staff is they are building a stand alone DVC villa building on site. The spot is not exactly known yet but the one they think it is, is not super close to much, but it will have it's own pool, and maybe bus stop. Look forward to see this get started and there is no building start date yet. But soon.
one thing to mention, the DVC building and Bungalows, at present, is right next to the ferry, and the parking lot furthest away from main building. easy in and out. However if you have light sleepers in your party, that ferry starts with the whistle at 7:15 AM. and can go until 1:30 am. and it is LOUD! you will hear it very clearly. We laugh about it, but if I had a toddler or someone who would wake up at 7:15am after a late night, it would make for a very crabby day, also a nap almost impossible as those things BLAST every 15min. The Dole whips are still the best, the food is better than it was last yr. at this time.
WE were happy at the pool this time as we live close by, and the parks are already JAMMED! The line to get into magic kingdom was ridiculous at 10AM. when we left. My son and his daughter went to epcot and Hollywood and he called to say both parks were pretty full, Hollywood was extremely crowded and epcot was pretty bad as well. but they got there at opening, had a plan so not undoable. ( He has a disability pass). I mention this as under no circumstances would I pay for a pass, then also have to pay to get on a ride as well, you want to pay extra for a digital thing that works about 1/2 the time, that's fine, but nope for us. Just sayin.
After a long talk with DVC staff and a couple other DVC members, We have decided not to sell, but to wait and see if things clear up a bit in a couple years. People have been locked up for so long, and Disney is one of the safest places to vacation with kids, so we are going to see if things calm down . In the mean time, I think universal has the better deal, and we will use our points for mini staycations, and interval international.
This is our experience, and opinion, I'm sure others will have there's too,and be just as valid. Not meant to ague,( except to the one guy who was such a hater last time I posted about Poly studios), I like to say, polite, constructive complaints can work, the studio's are so much better.

Thanks for sharing.
DH and I will be staying at a Poly Studio Lake View for the first time this September. We will be going there after a three night cruise on the brand new Disney Wish. It will be a resort only stay.

Thanks for the heads up regarding Ferry Whistle. I will have to use my sleep app with loud rain sounds to drown out the ferry whistle, it works to drown out snoring. Lol

I am looking forward to watching the fireworks from the balcony and just taking in the Poly vibe.

And I agree I think the parks are so jammed, because now is finally the time most people feel they can finally get back to WDW once again.
I am so glad I was there last August with my whole family, before they made all the changes and the crowds were manageable.

Thanks again for sharing.😎👍🏻💫✨

Interesting. DVC's website states that the both the regular bed and the murphy bed over the couch are queen size.
well I got out of one less than 24 hrs. ago and if those are queens, they are the smallest queens I've encountered in 57 yrs of adult life. LOL. but if that's what they are calling them, who am I to argue? MY sister, who slept in the bed, says it was close to a queen, but not as big and her queen. I slept in the murphy and it was closer to a double, and very comfortable. Thought I would double check.

Disney can call the chair pull out at other resorts a Queen if they want. ha ha

If you're interested, it would take about 5 minutes of looking around on this forum to learn a whole lot that they've already published about that new building they're building. It looks like an interesting plan.

a seriously cool feature there. The first time one of my adult children didn’t have a choice comment or two the next day about a sore back lol.

Find it fascinating how they plop down too

trying to preserve points, we stick with the standard view. Thus far, lucky to not get the parking lot, nice & quiet. No FR view & rather long walk to viewing area.

my biggest complaint re Poly, last stay in October, the FW viewing area was literally 30 feet deep with people. Security guard told us, ’it’s always like that’ and his unofficial survey over his tenure was majority were non-guests.

I’m sure it’d be unpopular however, With the big influx of more people via the addition, I really think they need to designate a viewing section of the beach for onsite guests only

all the studio queens seem more like full beds to me Lol. Usually so tired, I’d be happy to sleep on the bare floor at the end of the day tho.

That would be awful, although it's still better than standing shoulder to shoulder with hundreds of people in front of that castle. We tried that once, when fireworks first came back it was so bad, and only a few people were wearing masks as they were outside. Too dangerous for this household. Still is, but we're a family full of nurses so we are kinda picky.

If you have stayed at Poly before and maybe gone to the Luau, that is where the new DVC building will be going. If you want there is a few threads in the the DVC Resort section on here that talk about it. Thoughts are they will have from studios to 2bdrm,,and maybe GV not sure.
Glad the room worked for you,,the double bathrooms are nice too.

I hope they make it on the cement or on the dock or something rather than the beach itself- every time I go on that beach I get absolutely attacked by biting insects. I'm not sure how much of an issue this is for other people. I'm the type of person who goes outside for 2 minutes and comes back with 10 mosquito bites while other people are discussing the lack of bugs that day. 😆

We stayed at the beginning of May and the beds are definitely Queens- we cannot do doubles and the beds are very comfortable! We love the Poly and the fact that the resort is spread out, it makes it more peaceful so we don't mind the walk to the GCH. we have booked connecting studios since we purchased DVC in 2017 and love the fact that the 8 of us can stay and have 4 queen sized beds (love the the new Murphy Beds!) - and 2 pull downs, 2 kitchenettes and 4 showers! It may not work for everyone- but we love it!
