So my DF and I went for our site visit on December 19th. (I'm still trying to work on the TR ;) ) We finally set a date for May 18, 2008 and were so excited and ready to plan. Now we find out that our Graduation will be that Sunday because of the way the days fall that year :confused3 We were trying to avoid Memorial Day weekend because we heard it was so busy, is it that busy during the week after? I'm just so disappointed because it fell so good to get something decided on and now we have to go back to the drawing board. Just had to share because I knew you all would understand.

Honestly, I have been Memorial day weekend. It wasn't that bad. Certainly not bad enough for me not to get married if that's the date i really wanted. It's gonna be busier than sometimes, because kids are starting to get out of school.

:grouphug: Hope you find a date that you love.

Aww! Sorry to hear! Hopefully, it'll end up better than you plan! I'm sure everything will work out for the best!

We've been on Memorial Day Weekend and it's not that bad. In fact, we are having our VR on Memorial Day Weekend- May 27, 2007  We know it's going to be busy because of Star Wars Weekend/Epcot Flower and Garden Festival (not sure about the dates this year, but last year, it was during this time). For us, it was a bit more appealing because it will give our guests something more to experience, while at Disney. Plus, I love the Flower and Garden Festival :hippie:

thanks so much for your support... I never thought about the flower and garden festival being around then. That would definitly be something neat and extra for everyone to see. Thanks for helping me to see the positives :goodvibes As long as it's not as crazy as downtown disney was on December 22nd I think all my guests will be able to handle it :lmao:

Dinseybride2007 you'll have to let me know all about your wedding because that's when we'll be at our 1 year mark

I will, definitely, post a tr. I love reading everyone else's reports and on some days it really gets me through the day- keeps me from jumping out of my skin in excitement :goodvibes- it's only fair for me to do the same for future Disney Brides.

Our ceremony is 10 am @ the Wedding Pavillion, followed by a lunch reception @ Citrico's (we are having our tasting Jan. 26, I will post pics of the food, afterwards) and finishing the day, with the Illuminations Dessert Party @ French Arm-Upper. I've been thinking about scheduling a couple's massage, between the reception and dessert party, since it will count towards our minimum (not sure about this, yet).

We decided on a morning ceremony because we knew it would give our guests time to rest, check out Star Wars Weekend or The Flower and Garden Festival. Plus, I don't want to do everything all at once, it seems a bit tiresome. So, having it spread out through the day, allowing time for rest, was ideal for us- I still love afternoon naps :cloud9:

I'm really looking forward to our tasting, though. We looked through the sample menus and decided on the "Sun-Spiced Plated Lunch"- we tweeked it a bit though. We changed the appetizer and dessert. So, our menu will be:

Appetizer: Livorno Style Seafood Soup w/Shrimp, Whitefish, Tomato, Onino, Garlic and Parsley and Country Bread Crisps

Main Course: Seared Halibut paired with Free Range Chicken Breast, Grilled Portobello Mushroom Risotto, Asparagus and Oven Dried Plum Tomatoes w/White Balsamic Honey

Dessert: Creme Brulee, White Chocolate and Raspberries

Rustic Breads and Butter
Coffee, Tea and Decaf

We are not serving alcohol, but will have apple cider in the place of wine. Plus, it will be too early in the day to drink alcohol, we joked with our planner that if our guests wanted alcohol that early in the day, they didn't need to be at our wedding, they should be at an AA meeting :) (I have relatives that fit this statement, but it was said in good spirit). We, both, really like our planner because she get our dry sense of humor. I love having a planner because there is no way I could plan this VR- we just made 5 years, on Jan. 5-and plan our move to NV, relocate our business, etc. She was perfectly matched with us and I am so grateful that I don't have to worry about our ceremony, while trying to get everything else done.

Have fun planning and try not to stress too much!

Looking at doing a VR as well. How many people are coming? What range does your fall in--if you do not mind me asking. Just trying to get an idea.
