Just got VWL for XMAS!!!!

Just got off phone with great CM at MS..switched from OKW 12/25-12/29 1 bedroom to same at VWL. I was shocked to find availability. Have never stayed there, but always go to see the decorations and eat(we go every xmas week since 2004). CM was very good, told me we had to cancel OKW first..then booked the new one. I am so thrilled to be there xmas week..sit in the rockers in front of the fireplace and look at the tree!!!!

I guess I am wondering why there is such a success. I have tried for the last 4 xmas weeks to switch to another resort from OKW, for a change, but last year was the first time..I got AKLV Jambo house and really loved it. Thought I'd try again..thinking BCV(where we have stayed many times), but on a whim tried for VWL and got it....wonder why?

Probably nothing to it other than good fortune and great timing. We had just bought VWL last year and couldn't call to make Christmas ressies until under the 7-month point. There was limited availability, so we wound up with a split stay. After a steady stream of calls over the next few months, we wound up with our full stay in a 1BR at VWL. Of course, it could be that with the earth ending on 21 October, folks just aren't bothering with making ressies after that. . .

Congrats! You'll love the Lodge for Christmas. It feels downright homey!

Right there with you...we got lucky, too! Our dates are 12/22 - 12/30.

As for the resort, I think you'll really like it. We've stayed there before, and I love the resort. I still get cold chills walking into the main lodge lobby. Simply beautiful, and I can't imagine seeing it at Christmas. Now, let the planning begin!

Try the first week of December. The decorations are complete, the Christmas season is under full swing, and you get back home in time to celebrate in your own home.
