Just got Std view studio at BWV at 7 mos., early Dec.!

So you never know until you call MS! When I called at 10 1/2 months to book my home resort (hoping to switch over at 7 months) the CM was nice enough to check-BWV studios were sold out then! This morning, when I called, I fully expected to have to waitlist, then hope MAYBE it would come through. Boy, what a great surprise! So, the message is-"you can't be sure until you call MS!"

Congratulations! I must say - I'm surprised, also!

We've done a long weekend (2-3 days) in early December since we bought in 1997. We stayed at BWV the first 3 years - then decided to stay at OKW, instead - to get a 2BR for not many more points than a 1BR at BWV.

But I truly miss the atmosphere at BWV during the holidays, and would consider trying it, again...

Would you mind telling us how many days you reserved, and whether they were weekday or weekend days?

Actually, it was only for one night and it's a Saturday night, so I'm quite sure those factors made it much less difficult. However, since I was told 3 1/2 months ago that BWV was already sold out on studios, that's particularly why I was surprised this morning. I guess I didn't anticipate anyone making ressies at 11 months there, then switching to somewhere else at 7 months, making anything available. I already have ressies December 7-12 at BCV, this is just for December 6.

Switches at 7 months do happen!

Just yesterday, I cancelled a reservation for a BWV 2 bedroom standard view room for 12/5 and 12/6.

Decided to spend the first two nights of our vacation at VB. It will be the very first time we have used points to stay anywhere besides our BWV home. Have stayed at VB twice previously and loved it - but we paid cash both times.

There have been many instances this year of non-BWV owners switching to BWV at the start of the 7-month window and getting a standard view. I called right at the 7-month mark and was able to switch our 1BR at OKW to a 1BR Standard View at BWV. I didn't even call day-by-day...I just waited until the first day I could book the entire stay. I actually first asked to be waitlisted and the reservationist said "Let's see if it's available first". I was sure it wasn't, but she came back on and said I was all set! It will be a special 40th Anniversary stay for my parents and they just love the BWV. They were pretty excited!

Wow!!! very impressive! even a Saturday stay - since this is the time of year more people seem to stay over the weekend.

And they said it couldn't be done. Congratulations! It's so nice to have everything set. I'm betting that when BWV is fully operational (as it should be by December), that reservations in the 7 month timeframe will become easier.
