Just Got off the Phone

I just got off the phone with a wonderful CM....I have room only (with anticipating new pckg) for 15 nights. They only have a max of 8 nights with the packages. She did say that the computers are down and she could only give me answers that were in front of her, no real numbers but said that you do have to do a double type book for pkgs. So in my case since we are arriving late the first night that is going to be a room ONLY. Then starting the next day I have a package for 8 nights. So I can book another package or use the tickets in a way not too....HAVE SOME SERIOUS PLANNING TO DO BEFORE THE COMPUTERS ARE UP AGAIN.

By the way, Disney IS NOT selling the 10 day tickets to anyone directly except for those oversea's and Canadian travellers!

So, they don't have a 10 day ticket to buy? What if we are staying for 10 days?

Well, if you go online they appear to have a 10 day ticket. It was nice being able to play with the various options online to determine the best ticket for each stay.

They are selling the 10 day on their website. I thought this was going to be a big savings - but I just got off the phone too and I would be paying base price for everything - not a penny save buying the package. Also, I got a quote using AAA but I'd have to get a room only rate then add tickets. But I'd have to pay upfront for the whole amount of the tickets. Why would I buy my tickets directly thru Disney when you can get them cheaper every where else - particularly Hotwire (when they get their new prices up)! Hotwire has the cheapest prices around and they include free shipping!

I'm interested in finding out what Alamo is going to offer those who book with them!

Also I have a Convention rate of $99 at Coronado Springs during my July/August stay - so this new "My Way" doesn't save me! - Oh spoke to a supervisor today (funny guy) - was told you have to buy a package a in order to the Dining Option (I knew that but just wanted to make sure) - I then asked the supervisor how was this "My Way" - if it was really "my way" I should be able to add dining to just 3 days even if I was staying 6 days - if it was truly "My Way" - and use a room only code - He just laughed, and said, "that is true"

For 15 nights doesn't an AP make sense?

I think for 15 nights the AP's would be better as well. And who knows maybe you can slip in 1 more trip before they expire!

Yes, they don't seem to be offering magic MY way, either! I was one of those who wanted to add dining to my discounted, room only reservation. Bummer. Oh, well. I had already calculated that it wouldn't really SAVE us money, just encourage us to eat more.
