Just got off the phone with a CM

Hi all.

Thought I'd post this. I just spoke to a very helpful CM to see if a pin code was attached to my name. No such luck.

Anyway, she said two things I thought important to share. First, when I asked her about the timing of the General Public codes for 2009, she said to check back on the Disney web site daily, starting tomorrow. She said to check it first thing with your morning coffee.

Second, I was concerned about room availablity and she said there were plenty of rooms available in January and February. "Plenty?" I asked. "Plenty," she confirmed. "You mean just at WL and AKL?" I asked (the two resorts I'm looking at). "Everywhere," she replied. So hopefully that alleviates anyone's concern about room availablity for that time period.

Thanks! I have a reservation for Feb3-9, but it would really help if we had a code. I hate the idea of paying full price (even in value season) when there are so many codes out for this fall.

Now I can stop running to the computer every five minutes and actually get something done

Thanks for the info! Unfortunately my AAA travel agent doesn't come into the office until 9am so it looks as though I'll have to wait until she calls me to find out if anything is better than my AAA discount.

Well AP rates for 2009 came out yesterday so public codes should be out shorty if history repeats itself.

You are so right!! I have reservation for Feb. 6-13 but may alter the dates a bit. Still need to buy airline tickets yet so I am really hoping for something good. Would LOVE free dining but not holding my breath for that!

We have Disney Visa, I wonder if that means they (DV and GP codes) may all be out at the same time?

Hi.

Not to discourage anyone, but the CM I spoke to DID NOT confirm that tomorrow would be the day. She was open and helpful, but they will never commit to anything like that since they're not in control of when the codes are released.

What she did say, verbatim, was to "start checking soon, like beginning tomorrow soon."

So, the upshot. Will the codes come out tomorrow? Maybe. Saturday? Maybe. Sunday? Maybe. Her point was that something should be happening in the very near future and it would be smart to start looking begininng tomorrow.

Again, I'm just clarifying because I don't want anyone to be majorly disppointed if codes don't come out tomorrow.

Also, the comment about room availability was nice to hear for two reasons: 1) good to know rooms are available, and 2) more likely to get a good code (40%!) if there are a lot of vacancies.

Doesn't Disney know tomorrow is Halloween I have two parties at my kids schools, one in the AM and one in the afternoon which I'm in charge of .After that is trick or treating. When am I supposed to call? I may be the only one hoping for a later release. Please don't flame me. Most of this is tongue in cheek, but Sat or Sun would be better for me.

I am on the west coast, and my mom is an extremely early riser, and she is on mousesavers watch with the instructions to phone and wake me if she sees something posted.
While I am grateful not to get up at 5am, I also keep waiting for that call! lol.
