And I love it! :Pinkbounc

I bought my new "toy" yesterday. It's a Kodak EasyShare 500 series photo printer. The pictures turn out beautiful & the best part is, you don't have to hook it up to your computer to print pictures - you can print them right from the memory card (this may go for all photo printers - I don't know!)

I know the pictures cost a little more per print than just going to WalMart or somewhere else, but I love being able to drop my memory card in the printer & print them right at home. Plus, now all those pictures that I was "waiting" to order on-line & were sitting on my computer are now printed!!! :cheer2: I actually figured out how to do that myself, which is an accomplishment itself!

I'm already planning on taking it with us on vacation so we can print our pictures right then & there. It's my favorite new thing!!!

You sound like me! I got an HP Photosmart 385 printer a few months ago and I love it! It's small and, like yours, doesn't have to be hooked up to a computer. My husband and kids got it for me for my birthday and they knew it had to be simple to operate in order for me to figure it out and use it! :rotfl2:

I love being able to print pictures whenever I want. It also has features where I can print two or four of the same photo on one sheet. They just come out smaller, but I haven't yet figured out how to do it.

I also still need help when I want to put pictures on the computer. I think my family has given up on me ever learning how to do these technical things. They just look at me and sigh heavily, then proceed to help. :rotfl2:

I have this feature too. I really like it. I think it will be good for scrapbooking & also making photo collages.

I know we don't have the same printer, but on mine you press the "menu" button & go to "pictures per sheet". I can print one, two, four or even nine pictures on one sheet. It's really cool!

Good luck with yours. :goodvibes

I ended up with a photo quality printer quite by accident. I just wanted a fax machine/copier & got an all-in-one with a photo quality printer.

I didn't use mine until Staples started having "Free After Rebate" (FAR) sales and were literally GIVING away full packages for Fuji & Kodak photo paper. I got like 200 sheets of each brand. :thumbsup2 Then I tested it out on photos & I love it! I actually print out brochures for work now.

Watch for the Staples FAR sales. They call it their "Easy Rebates." You submit the rebates online & get a confirmation that it's gone through, so no more stamps envelopes & worrying if your snail mail was delivered. :cheer2:

I just did a Staples rebate for calculators my DD's needed for high school. It was so simple. I didn't have to fight with a package & cut anything out, no postage & got my e-mail confirmation.

It's probably a lot easier on their end also. Staples knows what they're doing.

Oh, and if Staples is having a FAR on photo paper again, get the full size sheets: 8 1/2"x11". In a 20 page pack you can get 2-4 pics out of each sheet and cut them down to size vs. just getting a pack for 20 photos. :)
