....and it's not in my name!

Looks like it's going to be a long, cold :cold: winter in Jersey...

If you are planning on going, call Disney, tell them the pin code that you got in the mail, and you may get it. If they won't allow you to use it, then you are not out anything, but if you can use it and the dates are when you can go, then it may not be as long of a winter as it would be without a trip to Disneyworld!

I got one too....it makes me so made it came to my house in my mother in laws name. what makes me mad is she has been to Disney 1 time when I paid for it and I have been 8 times. I have yet to get a code in my name

I got one too..In my DH's name. All of our trips have always been in my name. Go figure.

I'm getting frustrated - we've been tons of times - ressies are always in my name at we've NEVER gotten a code. Go figure..............:confused3

People who go often don't usually get a code. Why? Because Disney knows they already have you. They don't need to discount rooms cuz they know you'll pay at least rack rate for room(s). They give codes to people who are newly registered or state they've never been to Disney. I get quite a bit of PIN codes, compared to others, and i say i've NEVER been to WDW when prompted or asked. It works for me, so your results may vary. :teacher:

:yay:
I received a postcard at my address, but with another person's name. I called and explained that it wasn't me but it WAS my home. The CM spoke with a manager and they let us use it!!! So TRY!

I may have to try it. Got a postcard last week to our address but for a friend of my DD that we took to WDW 3 years ago. The young lady has no interest in using it.

I guess they must use some kind of tracking system that pinpoints the names of guests that have stayed previously but never booked a package in their own name. The same thing has happened to us twice now -- got a postcard in my MIL's name, and had a pincode in SIL's name. I've got to stop planning vacations putting everything in my name...then maybe I'll receive more discount offers!!!

Okay, I got a pin code this week..... at work! Our name and everything!

I teach and I use my school email addy for correspondance with disney, so I guess I must have given that address as my addy. Except that are going to WDW in less than 3 weeks:banana:  and everything came to my home address!

i just got a postcard PIN in my name at my MIL's address
we used some of her points last Feb to add onto our own DVC stay. so we were her "guests"
of course, don't need it - wish it were transferrable...:upsidedow

I just got the pin post card in my address but the first name was mine but the last name was my Son's friend we took with us last May. Si I called and they checked with their supervisors and they said being that it had my correct first name and my correct address they would honor the pin code and they did. I saved $241.00 over our AAA rate for Feb.27-March 4th..So We are very Happy.
Chatty:banana:

We received one just like that, too. Our address, but not our name, or anything close to it, or anyone we've ever taken to WDW, or anyone whose ever lived at our address. It's not at a time when we could go anyway, but is it worth a call so they can correct their records? It took about 15 tries to get our email address updated, so I'm not willing to put a lot of time into it.

Or, since several of you are reporting being able to use a code with a different name anyway, maybe I should just leave well enough alone and hope we'll get another code for a time we could actually use it (since I've never received one in my own name).

Raven69david: Thanks for the tip! Telling them we are frequent, loyal guests isn't working, so might as well try something else!

Ditto here. I also got the Thumper pin. My address and DD's friend's name. They honored it. I got 160.83 off AAA rateI had for Feb 22-26.

I'm not sure what a Pin code is exactly. Just figuring it is a discount and how can I get one. I am waiting and hoping for a discount to come out for January 08.

Thanks for all the responses! Yep, ours was addressed to my mothers friend. Ironically, she lives in Orlando and has an annual pass!! I just put her name on our villa reservation because I knew she would be visiting with my mother and I didn't want her to run into any trouble if she decided to crash in my mom's room or go to the pool with her, etc.

I'm glad to hear that they do honor them in some cases. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like we would be able to go at that time anyway...but it's still exciting to get a pin!

What do the pin codes look like and where will you find them on the cards or other mail???

This one's about the size of an extra-large postcard (larger when unfolded) and was light blue with Thumper's butt on it and says " Have we got thumpin' for you!" The code itself is pretty small...just a 15 digit number at the bottom of the page.
:)

same thing happened here. Of course our trip is in April. I'm going to call and see if I can get any discount. If not maybe I will look at other dates.

I got a PIN code in the mail today - my first ever!! We already have our February 08 trip booked through AAA. I called Disney to see what the price quote would be with the PIN, and it's $180 cheaper than the AAA rate I got! So I'm going to contact my AAA agent tomorrow to see if they can apply the discount to my existing reservation. If they can't, I'll cancel that and book with Disney (the CM held a reservation for me - I have 2 wks to put a deposit down to keep the ressie).

Yay for saving money!
