I have been waiting for it, but was sad when it came because I knew this would be the last one. :sad2:

I just look through it and it had a lot of good articles to read that I will have to get back too.

I am sending in my postcard to get the Disney Adventures. I think the kids will like that magazine.

I also got mine a few days ago. I was also a little sad. I have every copy that I ever bought. Ok, I know, a little rediculous!

Hey, does anyone else already have a subscription to one of the two options? Just wondering if someone could tell me if they were good ones to have.

I am getting the Family one, only till Oct. :guilty: I have saved EVERY Disney Magazine I received in the last 4 years! :lovestruc

Nothing against Disneyland - but I was disappointed to see the whole last issue focussed on Disneyland. Not much on WDW. Oh well! I got the Adventures mag. for DS.

I love the Disney Magazine too. We already get two copies of Disney Adventures each month - some how both ended up in my name.

So I called. They were so sweet. First they extended one subscription to the Disney Adventure magazine, which I had not renewed yet.

Then instead of having both the magazines in my name - one will now come in my DS name and the other in my DD name. They both each had a copy before- but now will know who's is who's by the label.

Thirdly - I convince the women of whom I was speaking with, to once in her life give up going to a mid-west state fair and visit Walt Disney World. I told her about all the great deals they have going and resorts for all budgets.

How can you work for a magazine of such a wonderful, magical place and never go there ? :confused3

So if you are unsure of what to do - just call the phone # on the card.
Sorry I do not have the card anymore. After the phone call, I tossed the card
in the garbage.

I just got the last isuue in the mail the other day. :sad2: It makes me so sad, that it is no more( I was really hoping the rumors were not true). I really did not want the other 2 magazines, that they had offered( so I just called and told them I did not want them and now they are just sending me a re-fund check in the mail).

It makes me so sad to think no more Disney magazine. With all of the other specialty magazines on the newstands, I can't believe Disney won't have one.

pooh2001 - please tell me about Disney Adventures....or anyone that knows about the Family one...I am trying to decide what I would enjoy the most. What kinds of things are in these other two?

Well, I must have missed something somewhere, because I had no idea that the magazine was closing down. My jaw droped when I read the attached cover. When I pulled it out of the mailbox, I thought it was that paper cover they add on to let you know that its time to update your subscription. Boy, was I wrong! I think it really stinks!!! :(

I loved getting my little dose of Disney every few months in the mail. I loved reading the letters from my fellow disney fans, and seeing some of the great photos that they sent in. And I will miss the recpies in the back of the mag from some the resort resturants. And just getting those little articles about what is going on in the parks.

I will be calling to get a refund on my remaining subscription. Because the two magz they are offering, are for families with children. And that is not me.

Has any one heard if they will still be letting people get back issues? I have a few that I am missing.

And since I missed it, what was the reason they shut down the magazine??

Another sad day for me. The first was the day they shut down the Disney Club, and now this. :(

I was very, very disappointed when I saw it was the last issue. I wish they could have ended with one more and put the focus on WDW in that one since this issue is mostly Disneyland focused.
I used to get Family Fun magazine and I liked it. It usually has Disney news and info in it since they own it. I'm going for that.
I'll really miss my Disney Magazine...

:sad2:

I was also very sad last week when I got my last magazine. I had no clue this was happening. I always read each issue cover to cover and was so proud of myself when one of my park tips was printed in 99. I still have all the issues back to when I first subscribed in 1996. I called the number and told the person how said I was about the magazine ending. He said they are passing on the comments people are makine. I chose the Disney Adventures magazine and I'll just pass it on to the 10 year old next door since my DS is too old for it.

I'm also a little sad about the Disney Magazine shut down. We already get the Family Fun magazine and we love it. We used to take the Adventure magazine for the girls, but I felt it was a little too old for them then.

What do think is the target age for the Disney Adventure magazine?

Sunny04 - here is a little bit about each magazine from my point of view:

Family Fun: A great magazine for those of us with school age children. It usually has season appropriate articles on crafts, foods, games, travel ideas, etc. I look forward to each edition. It is owned by Disney, so there is always a plug for the parks, etc.

Disney Adventures: A magazine for older children (not really sure about ages). It has reviews of Disney movies and television shows. Lots of games such as word search, other word games, puzzels, etc. It's a smaller size magazine (like a readers digest, etc.) My girls really liked the magazine, but the puzzels were too old for them when we were getting it, I think they were about 6 at the time. They are now 8.

Hope that helps.....

Again, does anybody know the target age for Disney Adventures?

Oh, also, I've not read the last issue of the Disney Magazine...I'm taking it with me to read on the plane to WDW!!!!!!!

I read in my last Disney Magazine that the target age for Disney Adventures is 6-12 I believe.
