I just got my first 2 disney dream reward dollars for $10 each for using the new disney visa. They came in less than a week. I ordered our airline tickets for June and used it for the month for such things as groceries, auto gasoline, etc.. and spent $2500. I could only get the dollars in $10 certificates so i have 5 left. Our billing cycle ends the 25 of the month so I should have enough for another certificate to take with us on our trip in June. I'm not sure if I'm going to continue using this visa after that, Unless we decide to go on another trip.

Thanks for posting this information, mickeyinjune. I was wondering howlong it would take to get the rewards. I am"working" towards getting some for our August trip.

:)

Where can the Dream Dollars be used? I have 13 so far! I am having a hard time getting information regarding the awards and how to redeem them.

I'm wondering the same thing...I've put over $5000 on my Visa since I got it--hoping to have enought Rewards to pay for most of our meals on our trip next January--but it'll put a major crimp in things if I find out I can't use them at certain restaurants, etc. We'll be paying two mortgages by then, so trying to keep out of pocket costs down.

Go to: https://online.firstusa.com/ and create a log-in for yourself. Then just click on the "View Disney Rewards" link. It shows your Disney Rewards balance and has a guide explaining how they are redeemed and what you can use them for. There is a 1-800 number to call to redeem or you can request them online.

You can get $10 Certs for WDW, to be used for lodging, food, merchandise, or admission tickets. OR, you can get $10 Certs for DL for same. OR, you can get $10 or $20 certs for TDS (store, online, or catalog). The certs should get to you within 2 weeks of ordering. The certs expire and they won't put them back into your account so don't order them too early. Also, you must have at least $20 rewards in your balance to redeem them, if I am reading the terms correctly. I don't think they want to send you a $10 cert every time you have a $10 balance.

Hope this helps.

Peggy--I'm wondering if there are any restrictions on which restaurants they can be used in...or more specifically if there are any places they CAN'T be used. The language on the site is kind of vague about it.

I was assuming (and you know where THAT can get you  ;) ) that the rewards could be used just like Disney Dollars - anywhere in Disney World.

Perhaps I am being naive?

I'm with Beth. I thought they could be used just like Disney $$.

herc.

From the brochure that came with my VISA:
•Disney Dream Reward DollarsSM are good for most Disney merchandise, park tickets, hotels, food and more at
participating locations. They can even be used in combination with special offers and discounts.

The wording is rather vague. The use of the phrases "good for most Disney merchandise" and "participating locations" is especially confusing since there is no where on the site that states what merchandise is excluded or what locations are participating in the rewards program.

Even my Disney Store manager could not give me a definative answer when I asked about purchasing park passes with the rewards dollars. You can use Disney Dollars to buy park passes.

I'm ordering mine when I get my next bill. I figure with these reward dollars, DD I've gotten from rewards programs and my $50 DC credit I'll have about $250 to spend onboard.

What's the interest rate on this Visa?

It doesn't matter! Because if you don't pay your credit card balance in full each month, the interest they sock you with erases any reward you may earn. If you can't afford to pay your balance each month, don't use a credit card.

For the first 6 months, there is no interest charge or penalty if you do not pay off your bill in full.
After that, it's 11.5%, which is subject to change.
This is what I was told when I called.

I used my card to book my in-laws plane tickets to the Philippines, so to get all those points. The bill was over $4,000. However, the bill came before they sent me the money and I wasn't too happy about taking $4000 out of my checking to pay for this. But I remembered reading on the first statement that there is no interest for a certain number of months...couldn't remember how long. So I called and asked. And it's 6 months.
I was so specific on the phone, he must have thought I was obnoxious, but I had to be sure! I said to him, "so you're saying that if I pay only half of my $4000 bill, and I don't charge anything this month, my next bill will have a $2000 balance and nothing more added by Visa?" The answer is Yes.

Also, I won't lose any points, I just won't be able to access them until the bill is paid in full. But I knew that anyway. :)
