Just got May ressies, no preferred sites available

Called yesterday to book a nine day stay at FW and requested a preferred site and it is totally booked. Did get regular site though (with pet) and plan to be their worse nightmare to insure that I get a preferred one by the time we leave. The worse part of this is that on the day of the May Marathon they leave so many sites open in the 300 loop cuz of the bikers that it is a waste. We were there at the same time last year and couldn't get over the fact that so many good loops near the canal were empty for 3 days prior to the event.

When are you going, and when is the May marathon? We are also going in May. May 3-14th.

We will be there May 22-31....can't remember which weekend it was last year, but they swam in Bay Lake, got out of the water and picked up their bikes on the beach, ran them to the backside of Loop 300 where the Pet Walk is and hopped on their bikes to where ever they went. Was a VERY busy morning there...traffic was held up a bit but we decided to leave the campground and after watching for a while.
The person who helped me with my reservations told me that as far as she knows that 500 is not a pet loop and I know that they had signs up that states it is...I was hoping for that loop. Oh well.

Keep calling! I have had to do this several times and luckily have always ended up with what I wanted. One CM told me to call promptly at opening because the cancellations go into the system at midnight and first thing in the morning is when you can snag those cancellations!

Thanks! Will keep that in mind. DH really does like the preferred sites, not for the cable but for the area itself.

I agree. We like the cable, but we just prefer the areas of the preferred loops better. If only they would make the 100 and 200 pet loops then I'd be in heaven!

keep calling that is also what I am going to have to do. I just made my June ressies with no prefered sites available.
