DH and I went to the Spy Museum in DC today. :smooth: What a fun, fun place - and much bigger than we thought it would be. I highly recommend it to those of you visiting DC. :thumbsup2

Here's a tip: We tried to visit last year, but it was so crowded that we couldn't see anything. They let people in on a timed ticket, but it was just still too crowded as everyone was moving very slowly through the museum. On that visit, after realizing how crowded it was, we got a refund a left.

This time, DH bought our timed tix online. 9:30am is the first entry time. We arrived at 9:10am. Although 9:30 is the opening time, they had already started letting people in. I think we were in the 2nd group to enter. It was great. As we toured, we could see that it was really starting to get crowded in the exhibit rooms behind us. It took us about 90 minutes to see everything. So if you're visiting, I recommend buying advance tix for 9:30am and showing up at 9am. We had a great time. :)

:tiptoe: :tiptoe: :tiptoe: Glad you had a nice trip. I love Washington DC. I hope to visit again someday.

Spy Museum? Tell me more. I love DC, used to visit every year, but haven't made it for some reason since about 2002. What's the Spy Museum? It sounds awesome!!!

The Spy Museum was one of our favorite places in DC. I think it was DD's favorite place. We got the timed tickets online for opening and it worked great! Glad you enjoyed it!

Its probably the coolest thing in DC right now. Exhibits show real spy equipment, stories about real spies, hands-on computer exhibits, short movies, James Bond car, etc, etc. Its just really really cool. I think our tix were $15 each. Its great fun for kids - big and small!! LOL My DH even crawled through the overhead ductwork with the other kids (we don't HAVE any kids!!) to spy on the visitors below. :teeth:

cool! we will be down in the area for a week this summer, while DH is down therre on business - we are also thinking about hitting the NSA one that is near Laurel...DH used to work there, but that was before they opened the museum or whatever it is.....

thank you for the heads up on the timed tickets!!!!
