No use to us, we're going in mid-October.

But here are the details:
Dates 8/28/11 - 9/24/11
DDP for mods and deluxe.
QSDP for values.

Will be gp on May 2nd.

Good news, eh? :) :) :)

Me too!!!!!

YAY! I was glad to see this in my inbox. Now I just have to keep my fingers crossed for room discounts/FD later on in the year.

I've gotten 7 FD PIN codes recently that are only good until 8/13, QSDP for mods and values...I'm happily surprised to see DDP for the mods with this new offer.

Is this the Disney Visa promotion that is being talked about on the FREE DINING 2011 WATCH... thread? or is this a General Public promo?

Same here - surprised to see the regular DDP for the Mods. We've already booked a condo for this trip because we have leftover tickets that we have to use up, but we might consider staying onsite again next year if the offer is the regular DDP at the Moderates.

We cannot win. First the room discount ends on 8/14 and now I got the Free Dining that starts 8/28. We are going 8/18-8/23. Darn. Wish I could change the dates but it won't work for my work schedule

I didn't get the e-mail! How do you sign up for them? I've had the Disney VISA for a couple of years now!

I never signed up to receive emails from Disney Visa, at least I don't think I did. I thought they just sent them automatically if you have the card. Go to their website and check if there's anything you need to do to get email from them.

Yes, it's the same one that's been all over the boards since yesterday morning. It blew up the boards about 7 a.m. yesterday morning and really slowed the boards down. There about 5 on going free dining threads that are discussing it ad nauseum right now. A lot of people seem to be in a snit because you are being forced to "buy" the Disney Photopass book with the free dining offer - meaning Disney is wording it as if you are gettingthe Photopass book for free, but when you work the numbers, it's really free dining, plus $100.00 for the cost of the book. Either way it's still a good deal.

I wouldn't exactly call it a "snit" if someone is not happy with the offer.

after 18 trips to WDW, we really don't need anymore pictures of hubby and me. we have never used photopass anyway, we have a very nice digital camera.

I am disappointed (but not "in a snit") in the offer. I understand it is a marketing tool. doesn't make me any less disappointed.

the least they could do is give another one or two options. how about a CHOICE of the photopass book or, say a Segway tour, or Behind the Seeds tour, or charge an extra $100 and let us use it for whatever we want, in the form of a Disney gift card?

I think a poster on another thread had it right. they are counting on many people not going through the hassle of redeeming the voucher once they get home.

If you are a Disney Visa Card holder you don't need to have the email. Just call up and make the reservation. Tell them you are a Disney Visa Card holder and you can get the promotion that's available. Good Luck.

Oh, there are plenty of people in a "snit" over this! There are a couple thread going on it already and people are "outraged at Disney's greediness." You may not be in a "snit" but there are plenty of people way overthinking and complaining about this. It's simply a marketing tool for Disney to make money. I'm just glad they released another free dining promo. Can you imagine what people would be saying if nothing came out at all for these dates?

You got it, sister!

I've got my fingers crossed that FD will be extended into the later Fall months, even having to shell out the extra $100 we'd save a boatload. Any discount is a good discount especially since one of these years there won't be any at all.

Thanks for the tip! I've always thought I'd missed out on these promos because I didn't get the e-mails!

sorry, I still don't like the offer.

of course, any discount if better than no discount.

I still say, people voicing their opinions on a message boards does not mean they are "in a snit" if they are unhappy with the discount.

yes, we all heard the news that Disney would be "weaning" us off of all the fantastic discounts. (think we'll see "buy 4, get 3 free; plus a $250 gift card" again??;))

the free dining has slowly evolved. we had the free regular plan, incl. appetizer and tips! those were eliminated. then we had only quick service for the values, and the length of stay and amount of park tickets changed.

It's Disney's company.. they can offer whatever they want.

but I STILL don't like tying the free dining promotion in with the photpass!!! never liked the photpass to begin with. I think they could have at least given a few options to get our extra $100. (methinks this photopass book is not selling well......)
I have been following the many "free dining""
threads for a while. and saying someone is
in a snit is a put down. insult. saying they had a childish temper tantrum.
I am happy for the people who find this discount works for them. I personally think disney found a way to get another $100 out of people who, chances are, might not even use the voucher for the photopassbook. (it obviously wasn't selling well to begin with)
like the frog who sits in the water S l o w l y getting warmer. it it got to boiling right away, they would jum[p out. but since it is gradual, they stay in the hot water.
same with the discounts.

we have become so accustomed to "free" dining, that we will get all excited about it, at any cost.

that's my opinion. but I'm still in a good mood.. not is a "snit" at all!

what happened to the poor frog?:scared1: He jumped out from where? By the way, what is a "snit"? Am I one?:rotfl: Maybe the frog was in the "snit"?:confused3 and that is why he jumped!!:rotfl::rotfl:
