Did you call and ask them about it?

Perhaps, since you check in before the 27th, they are offering you the upgrade anyway.

I would call. It sounds like they are upgrading your current res, not offering a different one if you change your dates.

We had reservations for 3/27-4/1 at Port Orleans Riverside and today I received the same email with the free upgrade. I called and was told it was ok! So now we are staying in a one room villa at Saratoga Springs!!! I also asked to make sure we still get the $500 gift card and we do-it was also listed in the confirmation email they sent.

I am assuming that it is because we are checking in on the 27th. Last fall we checked in on the last day for the free dining and used it for the trip.

Darn you Disney!!

I just called about a new PIN. None on my name, but one for our travelling buddies. HOWEVER, when the CM tried to check availability, it didn't work.

She put me on hold and said because it is SO NEW that she can't pull it up yet... it won't be available until Monday! She couldn't tell me what it was for, but did say to call back on Monday. She also mentioned that she thought our current code would be a better deal, but in my experience, it doesn't hurt to let them price it out!

Did you call and try to get the upgrade? This is an excellent deal and I would jump on it if they offered it to me.

I called 2xs yesterday & they told me no. After reading all your posts I called again this morning & they said yes!!! Go figure, & actually I got a $6.oo refund & we are keeping the giftcard promo.

Thanks to all of you for making me be persistent...we were @ POP & are now @ OKW in a studio...I guess that's an upgrade?

I know nothing about OKW...so now I have to do some research thank g-d for disboards!!!

OMG, that is great news. I've stayed at OKW and it's one of our favorites. 2 queen beds, a kitchenette with frig, microwave, toaster, coffee pot. It is a big resort, so check out some post to see if you can call and put a request in for a certain area. The downside is that there is no food court. There is a carryout, so this may change some of your dining plans. I would suggest eating breakfast in your room. The store does sell food items. My 15 yo grandson loves this resort, esp. the basketball court and the sauna (one of the only resorts with a sauna -- located in the lighthouse of the main pool). The room will be huge compared to the room at Pop. Glad it worked out for you.

Our email is strange when it comes to Disney ... Sometimes we get a pin message through the email and sometimes it is just there on the account when I call.

OMG I AM SO JEALOUS!! That happened to us our first trip. We were booked at POP and we received an email for a free upgrade to Saratoga Springs- FOR NOTHING ADDITIONAL!! We stayed in a one bedroom villa and it was AWESOME! When I called to book it, I was told I had hit the "disney lottory"! CONGRATS TO YOU!!

We are DVC members and last Aug. we were staying at POFQ for free dining (so not using DVC points). When we rode the ME bus back to the airport, we did a pick up at both OKW and SSR and got chatting with the family next to us and found out they had been booked at one of the All Star resorts and got "bumped up" for free to OKW too. When others on the bus heard us all talking, others added that they too were upgraded, so apparently this has been done before.

Of course as DVC members and believers, we started chatting up DVC to everyone and several families seemed very interested in buying in because of the wonderful experiences they had at a DVC resort.

Maybe Disney uses this during times when values are traditionally booked solid (like spring break and free dining) to have folks try out DVC resorts. I would imagine it does result in some new buyers.
