Arrived safe at home after a week at AKV. It was the best of times and the worst of times. Actually it was a good trip after navigating the bumps on the first day. Don't know if I am doing a TR but you will be the first to know.

Even if you don't do a full-blown trip report, I, too, would love to hear more detail, especially the "best of times" stuff. :goodvibes

We just booked a Grand Villa for the first week in June for 2011. We are taking our kids and grandkids and I am hoping they love AKV as much as we do. They have usually stayed at the Poly and they are sceptical about being so "far away" from everything. I would love to hear about your trip. Looking forward to a TR.

I love AKV. I just don't understand why people think its far away from everything. Its closest to AK park. Just like you have other hotels closer to other parks. Still have to travel on a bus or car to get there.
A 20- 25 minute ride. Woo hoo whats the big deal? :confused3

Being "far away" is what we like most!
We tried staying at Boardwalk and hated being so close all the time.
We actually switched resorts to get back to AKV... :)

Everyone has their own tastes and favorites.
We also liked SSR a lot.

Waiting to hear about good and bad times too...

why the worst of times? :(
Hope everyone is well and hope you had a good time.

Even if you don't do one of your fabulous trip reports can you at least give us the highlights and lowlights?

Decided to start one but it will be a few days before I can begin. It will be much different that the others but why not. The worst of times was the room I started in. It had a horrible view. One of the best of times was sitting on our balcony watching a Giraffe and other assorted animals resting at night.

Can't wait for the report!!! :thumbsup2 And perhaps I am reading WAY too much into the pronouns, but you said "our" balcony. Did your daughter end up skipping soccer camp to join you?

So glad you're going to do a TR. I really enjoy your sense of humor.

No teasing, you opened the door, so now we want details!

I cannot wait to stay at AKV myself, but my teens are still "commando style" when we go to Disney and believe it or not none of my DD's care for AK park. They prefer the other 3 and MK is their favorite so it makes so much more sense to be on the monorail since DD's like to "close" the parks at night! When we go in Feb there is always 1 night the MK is open until 3:00AM!

With that being said DH and I are planning to go without them and do our AKV stay.

I will be tuning in to the TR in whatever capacity you wish to share with us. I kept wondering what happened with your solo trip and how you made out!
