AKL is really dark, even mid-day. It's also very quiet, so I can understand how it could feel "un-festive". It feels like being in a wildlife reserve/museum - no bright man-made lights, no loud piped in music or bright colors - everything is in warm natural tones. I think you'd like it though because of all the emphasis on nature.

OP - sounds like you're having a very romantic trip!

We did...Very nice and romantic...And AKL is ok...I understand the concept, it just did not feel like "home" I guess is a good way to put it...But, everyone has their own preference.....For the ambience, it got a 10+.....But, as I told another DVC'r, how long can you sit and stare at a giraffe?

Though I can probably sit and watch a giraffe for a long time... I completely understand and... I'm more content with seeing wildlife in their wild life.

I think we have avoided AKV more because it is not real... not real wildlife in real conditions. I know they try to make it real, but it isn't.

We're just animal geeks.
