Well Wednesday actually!

This trip was quite different from any of the others and we were really excited but I've come home feeling rather deflated  maybe it's the jetlag but I don't have the yearning to go back asap like on previous trips.

We loved the Disney Wonder it really is special the food, service and shows are second to none. Castaway Cay was just heaven
The POFQ was a lovely resort and the free DDP was great but I did find keeping the table service reservations a bit of a bind (it was often too busy to change any).
Sunset Lakes is a great location and we love the freedom and space of a villa.

I think the main downside of the trip was one member of the party who moaned and sulked for nearly the whole 3 weeks, and it wasn't my kids it was my Mother :furious: I think she dulled some of the magic for us!
What do you do when she expects to come on holiday with you every year? This question could start a whole new thread!!!!!!!!!!!

Bye for Now

Welcome back-shame there were a 'few' issues with your Mother. But hope you still had a great time.x.

Welcome back :goodvibes
I'm interested to know a little about sunset lakes if you wouldn't mind, that's where we're looking at booking a villa :)

Welcome home - I'm sure once you've got used to our wonderful climate, you'll have that yearning again.

Ive had that feeling before, and it was after the same 'issues'. It did change over time and 'the urge' did return but it has changed our attitude towards family hols. We are now a little more selfish and do 'just us' thats me, him and the kids ! The magic returned :rotfl:

Welcome home Gaynor.
We have our 5th Disney cruise booked for next year(7nights on Magic), to think a few years ago we thought we would hate cruiseing.
The thoughts of DDP depresses me, too much planning and tieing for me. I like to get hungry and eat, not plan months in advance.
100% think your problem is your Mother. Why are they so ungrateful and sulk? Its beyond me. As you said theres a whole new thread to be had on the subject.
Get over your Juet lag and go without Mother and the Magic will be back.:goodvibes

Hi Karen
the location of Sunset Lakes is ideal just off the 192 which is about 5 mins drive away, as is nearby Formosa Gardens which has some restaurants and a supermarket. It's about 10-15 mins from Disney.
The community itself is gated and quiet, though I'm guessing it's one of the older communities. The villa we had was booked independently and has been refurbished to a great standard I found it to be quite luxurious. Let me know if you'd like the details and I'll PM you.

i see we could all contribute to that 'other' thread...
but i won't go there ... ;)

welcome back!!

i hope DD has a better time despite the free dining..

i've told her to try to play it by ear.....she has 14 ADRs (for her 14 days), but i told her to try to pop into places on the spur of the moment and see if that works out...and then fall back on the ADRs if she has to...

as it is, i can tell her friend is going to be a bit difficult about the trip..

DD told me today she wishes i were going with her instead of her girlfriend.... :goodvibes
and i know she meant it - sometimes 'disney nazis' (what my family lovingly calls me) are good to have around...
makes WDW life easier...

Welcome home.
Shame about your mother but your not alone at all,it wasnt my mother though who kinda spoiled the magic it was MIL ..and FIL who joined us back in 04 for a week they didnt see the point in going back to the parks to watch the parade/fireworks and at epcot spent all the time moaning as it was raining and b*ggered off. I was fuming.
I was pleased when they left after the week and we had 3 weeks to make up for it..So your not alone.
I'm glad you've had a good time on the other hand...and I'm sure after a few weeks you'll have them "good ole disney blues".
