We just got back from 10 amazingly wet days in Disney and wanted to share what we learned!
1. Say hello to Dissers that you see, you will regret not having the courage later. I only saw two the whole trip but was too chicken both times to say anything. (one was at the Luau Friday nite and the other at the East Depot POR bus stop)
2. Do laundry, it's not that big of a deal ($4.50 to wash and dry) took about an hour total and saved a ton of "I have nothing to wear" conversations, some of which would have been from me!
3. Bring bathroom air freshener...we were on the dining plan... nuff said!
4. Use Photopass, it is great! The only problem we had was that last week it was sooo wet most of the photographers weren't even out.
5. Pack ponchos.......lots! and if you have little ones, let them practice wearing them somehow. DS had a fit when we tried to get one on him, it was a battle. He did okay after he figured out that it kept him dry and we wore one too.
6. We stayed at POR and left tips everyday, only got one towel animal the whole time and it was a Mickey on the bed... I left a note on the envelope asking about towel animals..not sure if that is why we finally got one.
7. We used counter service as a source of ice water, worked out wonderful. It is free and we didn't have to carry in bottles of water every day!! (add a kool aid single or lemonade single for flavor.)
8. Fastpass and Rider Swap are great, but there is a lot of different rules for the Rider Swap (or mabye just a lot of confusion)... Some rides let us use fastpass for DH and DD to ride while I sat with DS then let DD and I go thru the Fastpass line with the Swap ticket, some made DH and DD go thru Stand-By then let DD and I go thru Fastpass, it was confusing.
9. Rich is the best Disney Bus Driver ever!! He had us singing and was great, made a rainy day at the park better on the way home.
10. Ask to sit at the front of the Monorail, it is breathtaking!! We took the Monorail to the MK after the Luau at Poly and they were doing Wishes. I was in awe!!

That's all I can think of at this moment, but it was a great trip!!

What a great 10 day vacation!

Can I ask do you mean you used snacks for water bottles? I'm confused by counter service.

Hope the rain didn't keep you down :)

nope, we just walked up to any counter service restaurant and asked for a cup of ice water. didn't need a snack credit.

Sounds like a great trip!!! Thanks for sharing with us!!!

Thank you for the tips. I am leaving soon and I had not thought of having DGS wear poncho to prepare. Should have done that today when I went out with him as it is the first day of rain we have had here since we arrived 2 1/2 weeks ago. Also, the idea for deodorizing spray will be taken up. Was the water okay to drink for the counter services? I like to idea of the single kool aid pack (I bought some propel and crystal light for the trip) but had not thought to utilize counter service for ice water. Sounds like you had a good time regardless of Fay!

I think the counter service water was fine and DD is picky about drinking water.
