We had a great time at the Fort. I did not get to meet anyone :( We stayed in the 2000 loop and just wanted to share that about 1/2 the campsites in the loop were not being used. I think it has something to do with the comfort station not being open . It is still under renovation. The comfort station that was open was not very busy and we had no problems doing laundry and showers. We had a great time, I did not want to leave! The Mainpool was packed but the other one was great sometimes we had the pool to ourselves or just a few other people! I thought the place was going to be packed but it was a very relaxing time !! Have fun if you are going soon! (and reserve your golfcart early)

We just got back too, sorry we didn't see you. We did meet BigDisneyDaddy, MrsGus, Stacktester and MBMacs. They were all very nice, my DH kept saying that it seemed I knew people everywhere we went.

We drove through the 2000 loop just before we left and noticed it was empty about 1/2 way down, then we came across the other comfort station and figured out why. We were amazed at some of the creative setups that people had on that loop.

I think if I had rented a golf cart and drove around I would have found a few of you But we have 6 kids and there was no way we could walk all the loops. We are going in august for a few days and renting a cart so I hope to meet people next time ! We are only 45 minutes from Disney and we just LOVE camping there!:goodvibes

Hey, what site were you in? We were there 6-16 through 7-3 in 2057. We ended up using the group camping comfort station most of the time and it was really nice. It was me, my son (11), my sister, nephew (10), niece (8), my mom, and dad.

We had two big coleman tents with a big 10*10 blue tent in between. I even made up some magnetic DIS things to go on the side of the truck but we lost most of them on the way down and didn't keep them on the truck after the first week. I looked around for anyone DIS'ing but didn't see anyone. Then again, we were in the parks 90% of the time but my mom and dad were around the campsite riding bikes while we were gone.

I expected it to rain more, we only had 3 rains in 2 1/2 weeks though 2 of them were very heavy. It was still a great time though it didn't last long enough.

We were on site 2051 so we were really close. I am trying to remember all the sights. I bet it will click . I am new to the whole DIS'ing thing so I did not have anything to hang. I know I should have made a sign or something.I was just looking for any indication of a fellow dDis'er and then I was going to go up and introduce myself. You may remember me though. Do you remember the sight with all the kids running around ??? playing with trucks?? That was us. we have a lot of kids. I have to work on my kids being quiet when we camp :confused3 they start out good and then get loud.

Next time I go I am going to make a sign or something! I am sorry I did not meet you!

I was under the impression that part of the reason people with kids go camping was so they could stretch their legs and make a little noise. I sure wouldn't worry about it, unless it's after 10pm or something. I know there are some campers who never had kids and have a low tolerance for them, but most of us had kids at some point in our lives and a little noise really doesn't bother us.

Thanks that mademe feel a lotbetter. I guess becausethere are so many of us I am always worried we are being to loud. I need to relax more!

We had several families with kids camping around and I think I remember the trucks. Don't worry about the kids, that's the whole fun of camping. They get to run around and be kids :) I know ours made their fair share of noise as well. My son and nephew found a little bump in front of the comfort station and liked jumping it with their bikes.

I wore my 2 year old black skull head band thing I got at pirates of the carribean most of the time I was there. I know people probally think I'm a biker or something :drive: but it's the only thing that keeps the sweat out of my eyes in the Florida heat. I've bought/tried other hats but nothing else does the job that simple little thing does. My parents had their grey truck parked in front of the camp site and if you saw a little 8 yo red headed girl riding a pink bike, that was my niece.

I've got to find a better way to identify my camp site next time, I love talking about Disney but I'm not good at striking up a conversation with people I don't know.

If anyone wants to try it here is what I tried this time:

Walmart has magnetic printer paper. I created signs in MS Word and printed them on that then sprayed them with tent sealant to water proof them. It nearly worked but the magnet wasn't strong enough and many of them blew off when we hit a rain on the way down going through Tennessee. The rest got bent/damaged in the process and wouldn't stick well afterwards.

However, I think if you taped the edges onto the truck/car that it would hold (I may try that next time) or just wait till your parked in the campsite and put them on. They worked really good till we hit interstate speeds and got rained on.

I have one of those skull headbands I got last year. I wear it under my helmet when I'm going out to ride. I tell my wife I'm bad and she laughs. By the way, I ride a Yamaha Vino scooter.

Re: the noisy kids, I think most people are pretty relaxed over in the 2000 loop, and like FW guy said, as long as it isn't late at night, I wouldn't worry about it.

My pet peeves are kids that play in the road and don't move when someone is trying to drive thru or people that play loud radios, dump trash or taunt the wildlife...I assume your kids weren't doing that. Noisy kids during the daytime don't even make my list.

Re: creative setups on 2000, being a W&E loop, we saw all kinds of setups out there. The ones that amazed me the most were the ones that came in for one night, setup a tent and miscellaneous stuff, and then vaporized the next day! We saw that a couple of times, but for me, once I get to FW, I want to stay awhile!!!

sorry, I can figure out most of these but what is a W&E loop?

W=water E=electric

Some folks have been calling them "tent" loops lately, but any vehicle can stay on any site that it fits on. You're paying for the services provided on the site, not the type of vehicle you park on it. You can tent on the preferred sites or park your Class A in W&E.

The 1500 and 2000 loops are the Water & Electric loops, and tend to attract lots of tenters and popups. It's a fun place to be! :thumbsup2

Edited: thanks to our friends below...apparently this is NOT true with Disney at FW!!!! Keeping reading....

Only tents and popups are allowed on the partial hookup loops, no Class A's or TT's. Otherwise, you are correct - tents are allowed on all loops.

Contraire my friend on no TT in 1500 loop. There's a TT about the size of your's sitting in 1500 right now. How I don't know, but it's there. I was always told no to TT on the 1500 & 2000 loops. Maybe with the busy holiday they made an exception.

Life is kinetic - always changing. I don't believe even Disney could manage to fit a class A in those sites on the 1500 loop, though.

I saw a class C in 2000.

I don't know what the classes are but last year we had one of those HUGE million dollar type RV's camp beside us in 2000 loop. It was kind of funny seeing it sit between all these tents and pop-ups:rotfl:
