We came back from a trip last week from VWL and we loved the resort.

We watched Wishes one night from the marina followed by the Electric Water Pagent. It was very relaxing and fun, accompanied by some frogs (or maybe toads) and ducks and a bunch of people.

There were bunnies around also. We rented bikes (surrey bikes and the kiddie one) to Fort Wilderness once and rented watermouse for an hour to go around the lagoon.

Loved our dedicated 2-br on the 5th floor facing the woods. It is very private and we did not even need to draw the curtains at night. We also like OKW very much for the sheer size. but VWL offers more activities, despite significant size difference in the living room/kitchen area.

Did the lodge tour with Stan with some fun tidbits. What a nice man!!!

Missed the Duck Race in the afternoon, sounded a lot of fun. Supposedly the winner will get a free boat rental.

Also missed the kids pin trading nights.

The pool was nice and warm and fairly crowded.

Could not be the flag family because they were all taken by the time I checked in. Wonder if I can call ahead in the future before we check in to reserve for that.

We even went to the campground once for the singalong and the movie. Found out the best way to get back to Wilderness Lodge is the "orange line" bus at Fort Wilderness. In 5 minutes, we were back at the hotel (found out by accident. We took the boat over thinking we need to take the boat back, but by accident, I got on this bus going the other way and just decided not to get off until we get to the Marina. He then announced that he would stop at Wilderness Lodge before TTC, so we just stayed on, so much faster)

Ate at Trail End for dinner once and the waiter was very entertaining.

Did not eat at Whispering Canyon, but saw some people sitting there were laughing really hard for whatever the waiter did. Not sure I would want to use their catch up bottles though, it seems that they get passed in people's hands all the time : )

We will definiately stay at VWL again.

What a nice report! So glad that you enjoyed your stay at VWL. :)

We've run into this as well. It seems that the "secret" about Flag Family is out, and it has been booked every time we've gone for our entire stay. They said they will not book it prior to anyone's arrival, so my guess is that the WL fanatics (and there are a lot of them on the Resorts Board) have passed the word around!

Thanks for taking the time to post your impressions! :)

VWL was fabulous for us as well!

I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as we did! :)

We are going to VWL for the first time in July and can't wait!

When you watched Wishes from the shore, were you able to hear the music from the show?

Thanks a lot for the review. We are soooo hoping that the waitlist comes thru for us for Thanksgiving. But, I guess BWV is better than being at home, in Ma!!! Here's hoping we get to try out VWL!!!

I CAN'T WAIT

All these reports are making me very anxious to my first stay at my home resort!!!

I'm glad you can see the fireworks from the beach, that will be fun.

Did they do away with the boone and crocket busses and chip and dale

We stayed in the cabins once and it took us awhile to figure it out.

Boone and Crockett were exployers so they left the resort, while chip and dale stayed in the resort!

We stayed there for the first time this past Pres Week and came home feeling the same way!

The WLV was our first home resort and we love it.I think it's the only resort that has a package deal with the marina. We payed $230.00 for the week and we used everything. The five of us used the motor mouse boats every day.The thing with the ketchup is you dont have any at your table and like any other thing you ask for they point you out and everyone looks at you,It's part of the theme. They play games with everyone so don't ask for anything. We go every time we stay at the WLV.

Thanks for the great report. We're headed there in Oct. We've stayed in a studio twice but never a 1 bdrm and we're really looking forward to that.

Glad you had a great time!

No, you can only see the high fireworks. But now they are selling the CD for Wishes. We bought it while there and play it in the car all the time. It is now our favorite closing show at Disney.:D

Clarabell, Chip and Dale were at the singalong, but what was the thing with the buses? I find their buses to be confusing and I figured if I need to go anywhere around the campground, I would just hop on the bus no matter which line it is and most likely I will get to the place, it may just take longer, the dummy approach, as long as you are not rushing for time:D

BTW, we saw Steven Tyler at Boma for breakfast on our last day. My first time seeing a celebrity. The whole restaurant's people were paying attention to his group and they got great service from the servers. But people pretty much left them along except for a few. That was definitely a highlight.:D

I'll have to post my Steven Tyler picture now! ;)
This is my daughter with Steven. The picture was taken in his restaurant in Mass.
My daughter was NOT hiding, she was just brushing her hair out of her eyes. We were so disappointed when we had the pictures developed.
He was very nice and we had a great time at his restaurant.
