WOW! Awesome 1st cruise. Just wondering how long does the rocking feeling last. Whenever I change positions I feel off balance. Since I'm bending over a lot doing laundry I keep feeling like I'm rocking. :tilt: Too funny...but just wondering how long it lasts.

Thanks in advance!

i get the same feeling when i get off a cruise. it usually lasts for a couple days. it goes away most of the time without you knowing. but i hope u had a fun time on your cruise! im going on a 7 day western magic on july 17th!:earsboy:  :bounce: ::MickeyMo :boat:

I usually feel the ground swaying for two days after a cruise... I just consider it a happy reminder of the fun we've had!:sunny: :boat:

We stayed in Orlando for two nights after our cruise and we really noticed the rocking as we would walk down the halls to our room!!! Seems it lasted a couple of days.

Wow! I'm in trouble then...I've never been on a cruise before but I feel a bit off-balance even after just a long elevator ride, so I'm afraid I'll be "rocking" for a LONG time after our upcoming cruise!
:)

When my mom and I went, it lasted for about a day for me, two for her.

After our 4 day cruise in 2002 I had "sea legs" for at least 5 or 6 days, we will be on seven day in September and don't know how long to expect it this time. I would only feel it though when standing still. I like what one of the previous posters said though to let it be a reminder of the cruise.

I have cruised 4 times - 3 on the Magic and once on the Island Princess. I only experienced the rocking on 2 of these trips - #2 and #3 were very smooth but the first and last (beware Alaska cruises: take your motion medication, the trip from the glacier to Seward is rough water) were rougher seas (late in the trip) and those were the trips that the rocking continued. It lasted less than a week each time and less and less as the days went by. I agree with KathyTX - it is a reminder of where you have been.

LOL - on my first two cruises I didn't experience this. But on my last one this past December, I did. It was a few days later that I was still feeling a swaying/rocking motion.

Never got that rocking feeling after our recent 6-19 Western. However, when we did the 7-day Eastern two years ago, I felt it for about 10 days. HTH

Yup, the 6/19 cruise was VERY smooth. I was kind of disappointed that I couldn't enjoy the "after cruise" feeling!

I'm feeling less & less of it. I got off the boat on Sat, posted this Sun a.m., then worked a double shift (8 hrs) of selling BINGO cards for our parent's club fundraiser at our town 4th festival. Now I'm up doing laundry--need sleep badly but want to be on the boards & still thinking of my trip. I just think of the song "remember the Magic" each time I sway and think that I'm just remembering the MAGIC. My DH is getting up w/ the kids & I'm sleeping in. :o

The girls at the VISTA spa, my best GFs on the trip, swore by green apples. I ate a green apple the few times I felt a little off balance & each time the apple did the trick. I never actually got the nausea part. I am prone to being a little off balance, so I consider this a huge victory. Many CMs said the water in the Pacific is much rougher--so be careful West Coast cruisers for 2005.

P.S. LOL My 4 yr DS thinks it's funny to ask me to put his napkin in his lap for each meal since we got back. He gets the cutest twinkle in his eye & asks me to do the funny voice Mommy--at which point I pretend to be our asst server. He had a great accent & was a huge hit w/ my kids.

I'm glad your rocking is slowing down. We had a really rough cruise and I rocked for close to 2 weeks. My husband (who did get seasick while I did not) did not experience any rocking.

I wonder why some rock and some don't?

I just consider it a free souvenir from the cruise!!!

I "rocked" from 4 days and I loved it. It only seemed to start when I was standing still!

Thank God I was not sea sick during the cruise and I really didn't notice the motion until I was off the ship.

Yeah, I definitely noticed it standing still. I also really seemed to notice it laying in bed. Has anyone else experienced this??

I took my first cruise in (a 4-day) 1989, while I was still walking pretty well. My anti-motion sickness remedy was the patch. I didn't get seasick but I really felt the swaying sensation after the cruise.

I took a cruise on the Wonder last month and pretty much stayed on my scooter except when I needed to get to where it wouldn't fit. I took no motion sickness medication and did not get sea sick, either... After the cruise I felt no swaying, although, I did quite a bit of staggering around in my stateroom as I tried to adjust to the constant motion (Like trying to walk during an earthquake).... so I guess I never did adjust to it.

I was wondering if the reason I didn't feel the post-cruise sway was because I never managed to adjust my walking to the movement of the ship as I was on the scooter most of the time....and then didn't have to readjust to solid ground afterwards...
I didn't notice whether Cash was swaying or not but maybe, with four legs he was able to roll with the ship better...

I just got back too! Every time I bend over, I almost keep going right to the floor!

Today seems to be better though. :)

It was a rocky first few days wasn't it!!

And we all kept thinking it was just "in our heads"~!~!
