Just got back on Saturday 4/8/06, And I wanna go back!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

This post is long but bear with me...........

Stayed from 4/1 - 4/8. Did MGM in one day, AK in one day, went to Epcot 4 times (we love that park), went to MK 3 times, and spent half a day shopping at Downtown Disney.

Some things to get off my chest:

We stayed @ POR in Oak Manor, great resort, highly recommend it, pools (both main and quiet) were well heated.

FYI - resort map makes it look much larger that it actually was.

Never had any issues with buses to or from the parks. Longest I waited was 10 mins for a bus back to resort from MK.

Mousekeeping seemed to be subpar, not sure if this is a growing trend. No towel characters on beds, only one visit to room a day, bed not turned down at night. (Yes, I did tip generously).

Park crowd levels were moderate, once Thursday hit tons of people checking in however, I visited the parks on the days referred by touringplans.com it worked out great.

POTC @ MK - Was shutdown....... pirate:

Our first day we ate at Donald's Breakfastsaurus @ AK, we were in the park when it opened and got to ride Everest TWICE.... Other character meals we did were: Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace, Norway Aukerhaus Princess Dinner.

Our last night we went to Epcot and then took the ferry to the Boardwalk, I've never been over there, God bless you if you can afford to stay there during peak season, it's a gorgeous resort. We ate @ Spoodle's, best dinner of the week!!! Then went back to Epcot to watch Iluminations.(Nothing special once you've seen Fantasmic and the Wishes Fireworks).

The non-character resturants we ate at were: Coral Reef, Boatwrights, and Hollywood & Vine (do not go here/worst buffet).

Out of all the 4 parks, the longest I waited in line was at Epcot for Soaring about 20 mins. Everything else I pretty much walked right on to. I love fastpass, and we only used the childswap once or twice. (:-P Confession: My wife and I took each of the kids seperately to the CM at Big Thunder Railroad so we could each get a childswap........)

After riding TOT, the Rock n' Roller Coaster, and Everest @ the beginning of the week I was extremely dissappointed w/ Space Mountain and BTMR. Granted I've been to WD 7 times now, both these rides are nostalgic, but Space Mountain is desperately in need of an update..............

The Winnie the Pooh ride is an embarrasment, I don't know who designed it, but it is poorly done, with little effort, with such a popular character it deserves so much more TLC. (the ride shut down right when we got on it had to wait 10 mins for the fuse to be reset, the operator blew it) Peter Pan blows this away any day.

I did an AR w/ Priority Seating for Fantasmic, after dinner we proceeded to Oscars were we were let backstage (no guide) and walked to the arena. Upon getting ther @ 8:00 pm it was packed, I showed my ticket to the CM and the response I got was "We'll you better find a seat quick before they're all filled up" (I was ticked). Fortunately my wife who isn't as hot headed as me found some seats in the front row for us to squeeze in. It was an excellent show.

I also kept noticing that @ all the parks about an hour before fireworks started CM's would rope off areas down by the water @ Epcot and the MK, I finaaly asked one why and they said it's reserved for private parties.

With regards to Epcot, I was extremely dissappointed to see The Living Seas being turned into a Nemo attraction. I used to love the Hydrovators and the ride through the underwater tanks. Universe of Energy was shut down all day, and we were the only people on the Journey Into Imagination Ride, What is going on at the Wonders of Life pavillion? They don't even list it on the park map anymore???? Test Track was also a huge disapointment, it was under construction the last time I visited WDW, and did not live up to the hype at all......... :sad2:

I did not go on Mission: Puke, I did walk by and saw (honest to God) 3 people hurling outside the attraction. Where HORIZIONS????????????? :furious:

On a final note the products that they are selling @ the shops @ WDW ie. clothes toys, are really subpar, not too long ago one of the coolest things to do @ WDW was to be able to go into the stores and get some really cool merchandise. It was also a real dissappointment.

With all that said, I did enjoy my trip with my family, and look forward to going back soon!!!!!!!

BTW: Carousel of Progress was up and running while I was there, I walked by and there was A CM up @ the entrance, I said "holy crap it's open, let's go!" God, I love that ride!!!! Granted there wer only 4 other people on it with us, but the kids were singing the song the rest of the day!!! LOL!!!

:thumbsup2

Sounds like a great trip.

I agree with you about the Pooh ride - I enjoy it because I have little kids and I love Pooh - but it really seems like the cheaped out and just fit new displays around the Mr. Toad track.

Now that Soarin and Everest anr done - they will invest some $ & imagination into something new at the MK!

Enjoyed reading your report ~ Thanx for sharing.

Oh BTW, Phillharmagic is an OUTSTANDING show!!!!!!!!!! Saw it twice!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

I think we always do philharmagic at least two or three times. You may miss something the first time but make up for it the next time. Sorry that you didnt' like Hollywood and Vine. It is a regular buffet and good for families with kiddos that are all on different taste buds........thanks for your report and I can hardly wait for my visit too.
