Just got back from FW! Mini trip report!

Hello fellow campers. We just got back from a 10 night stay at the Fort. That has been our longest stay so far...I did enjoy the longer stay...it gave us time to relax a little bit too. We were in the 500 loop which is also a pet loop since we had our dog Suzie with us We like this loop as it is easy walking distance to the marina and the pool, etc... We had a good and bad experience with the new doggie park/playground. It's a great idea but if there are aggressive dogs there it can be a problem. First time there was a a positive one but the 2nd time someone had an aggressive Rottweiler who came charging at our Suzie as we were trying to get in the gate. My hubbie tried to keep Suzie behind him and kept her on her leash and somebody came up (not the rottweiler's owner) and told us we should take her off her leash --that was why the rottie was being aggressive. I don't think soooo!!! No way am I letting my dog off a leash with an aggressive dog charging at her. That is a false misconception that a dog will be more aggressive if on leash than if not, plus it wasn't his dog and none of his business. After that we stuck with doggie walks by ourselves.

We took the sea raycers out for the first time and that was a lot of fun! Our girls really enjoyed that!

The buses were good. Only ever had a problem with the Hollywood Studios bus and both times were on a Fri. Both of these Fri's were Star War weekends so you would have thought they would have had the buses going back and forth a lot but we waited a good 30-40 min both times. Oh, and just so you all know. The Hollywood Studios bus now picks up at the Outpost not down at Settlement like it used to. I don't know how long it's been changed so I'm sorry if I'm telling you something you already know but somehow I missed that change.

The weather was hot but not as hot as it was last year or has been in previous years. It did seem like we had more rain this year though. Everytime our chairs dried out outside it would rain again and they would get all wet again.

I didn't get a chance to meet any of you Diser's but I met a lot of nice people and told them about these boards and how great they are!

Glad you had a good trip and would love to see pictures!

The busses were HORRIBLE in January! We had to wait a min. of 15 min each day just to get an internal bus from our loop(1400). We love loop 400 for the same reasons you love 500(minus the dogs! )

Sorry we missed you. We were in the 900 loop. We tried on several occassions to do the sea raycers but everytime we either were too late because the busses were slow or it rained. I found the busses to be much slower than they were in years past. I am guessing it is because of the time of year (crowds), but nontheless they were bad. When we went to Typhoon Lagoon, we were the only ones left after closing and it took over an hour for the bus to show up. And then the gate at the fort wouldnt open so we sat there for a while and when someone finally raised it, there were 8 busses behind us. Otherwise, we had a blast and i want to go back already.

Hi Cyberdeb! I was thinking about you during our trip...I'm sorry we missed you too! I'm glad you had a good trip! I know what you mean about wanting to go back already!! The only cure for this is to start planning another trip (LOL)!
