We just returned from 4 days at the parks with our two daughters 2 and 7. We were there Sun-Wed and stayed at the Hojo for 5 nights in bldg 4. We love the Hojo and although prefer bldg 2, would definitely stay in the standard rooms again.

The crowds were pretty heavy on Sunday (Superbowl Sunday), but during the week, it was great. Splash and SM had 5-10 minute waits.

Thank you to the poster who mentioned musical chairs with Alice and the Mad Hatter at Coke Corner. DD7 got to play and LOVED IT. It was very cute and Alice and the Mad Hatter were great! Definitely one of the trip highlights. Also got to see Cruella finally! She was hysterical!

Finally got to try the Loaded Baked Potato soup at Carnation Cafe -- it was INCREDIBLE! Also tryed the chocolate covered coconut macaroon someone posted about awhile back. To die for!! We had our usual favorites - Monte Cristo at Cafe Orleans and Chicken Fusilli at Red Rockett's......Used the coupon for the free volcano dessert at RFC (thanks to that poster too!).

Other highlights...finding out that my 2 year old actually enjoys some rides now! Pixie Hollow, the Princess Fantasy Faire, Sleeping Beauty Castle walk-through. The CM that walked up to DD2 and handed her a pin (button).

The only incidents we had were witnessing a woman get rather upset that the line for Stitch had been closed and the CM wasn't going to let her in...:confused3 and the group of classless women who sat behind us on POTC cursing and acting like idiots with my two DDs sitting right in front of them.:sad2:

All in all, another great trip!

The baked potato soup is why I love the Carnation Cafe so much. Was the chef table hopping again? He'll give you a copy of the recipe if you ask.

Welcome back!

It sounds like you and your family had a really nice, fun time! YAY! :)
I am sorry that people that are even worse in behavior from those that take flash pictures, were sitting right behind you! (UGH!) and sigh........ I wish that you had said something to them. IF they had not behaved properly after several minutes, believe you me, I would have for the both of us! Once in a great while, when I say something to someone, that really needs to be told whats what, I will be told to either shut up, or to mind my own business, or both. I do not allow that commentary to deter my standards.

It sounds like you had a great time. We are thinking about staying at Hojos for our upcoming trip. We will be going back to the room mid day for a break (naps for the little ones). So, the standard question...how was the walk? Specifically, how was the walk to go back for a mid day break (suppose I first should have asked if you went back for a mid day break) I guess i ammore curious about time, will it take too much time to head back for a mid day break?

I wanted soooo badly to say something, but I knew that I would get a rude response and didn't want the situation to get worse in front of my kids. :sad1:

ha ha Gotta love ol Oscar. He's going to love when the DIS ladies come and take over the restaurant.

We do not go back to the hotel for breaks...my little one naps in the stroller (if we are lucky!). The walk was a little over 10 minutes, I would say when she walked herself. Less when my husband was carrying her back to the hotel! ;)

Glad you had the chocolate drizzled, matterhorn-shaped, coconut macaroons! They are my favorite thing from Blue Ribbon Bakery. :)

Christmas 2007 we went to DLR with my sister who was 10 at the time we were waiting for the fireworks, but they got canceled due to wind conditions so we only saw the light show and snow. my younger brother (17 at the time) put my sister on his shoulders so she could see. Some young teens behind us started screaming to put the mother F*****g kid down so they could see and they really started cussing us out. We moved slightly to the left to leave room to the side for them, but they just wouldnt stop finally fed up I turned aorund and informed them that my sister was more important then them (in retrospect not the nicest thing to say, but I was pretty mad :sad2: ) Some people just dont have the disney magic I think especially younger teens. Sorry to hear you encountered some baddies on POTC.

Otherwise seems like you guys had a great trip did any of the refurbs bother you very much?

The worst part about the group on POTC is they were grown women, probably in their late 20s or early 30s. :crazy2:

Refurbs didn't bother us at all. Really missed the HM, but knew it was down, of course. I wanted to stay through Thursday so bad to see the preview for IASW..! Hopefully we will be back in March!

We'll be at the HoJo in just 3 short weeks! Were both pool areas open?

I probably won't be into swimming, but my mom is like a 5 year old in that she will not stay anywhere where she can't swim, even if it's 60 degrees out:).

I did not go back by the garden pool -- so I don't know for sure if it was open. I am assuming it was. The pirate play area was definitely open. It was around 80 the entire time we were there though!
