Hi Everyone!!

I just got back from the July 3rd-July 10th Western cruise on the Magic and I was wondering if anyone had any questions???

Just here to help...:D

Welcome back. Hope you had a wonderful cruise. Which excusions did you do on the Western Curise and would you recommend them?

How was the soda situation?

I understand that you now have to pay for soda at the bars???

Hope you had a great time!

We're on the Western next month. How were children dressed at dinner, specifically on formal night?

Even though the sodas are free, can you still buy a mug? I just like to have them as souvenirs.

OK here is the scoop.....

Excursions:

We didn't do anything on Key West, Grand Cayman was the best...we did the turtle farm & stingray city, I HIGHLY recommend stingray city...definatley a must. On cozumel we did snorkeling but that was not good, the chacunnab (sp.?) national park smelled like a toilet and was not very fun not to mention there was not coral or many fish. The tour guides begged for tips all the time and were mad when we didn't pay. I recommend the swimming with the dolphins excusion instead. Castaway Cay we went parasailing and that was really fun I recommend that also. Well worth the money.

Soda:

I had read before I left that the soda was going to be flat...but to my surprise it was great. Yes you do have to pay for soda at the bars. You get it free at the meals and at the stand on deck 9. It was only flat like once and for about an hour. Disney has really cleaned up that problem.

Dress:

The personal Navigator will tell you how to dress for dinner but on the casual nights we just wore whatever we had on and that worked out great. On formal nights the men and boys wore things like kakhis and a button-down shirt or polo shirt. Some children had ties that looked nice. My brother (11) and I (16) wore kakhis and button shirts that worked out nicely...hope that will help. :D

Soda Mug:

Yes, there are soda mugs avalibale for purchase onboard the ship. You could get them at most of bars and at mickey's mates.

FYI:

I recommend booking excusions *before* you leave because things fill up very fast!!!

And remember to get reservations for Palo right when you get onboard.

HOPE THAT WILL HELP!!!!;)

ANY MORE QUESTIONS???

Hope you had a great cruise!

Thanks for offering yourself up to answer everyones questions.

Did you participate in any of the organized activities for teens? If you did, would you recommend them?
Seems like the teen club has been getting mixed reviews lately.

The Stack was cool...and yes I did participate in some of the activities. I went to the "411' the first night and met a lot of people. We played games to break the ice and I enjoyed it a lot, but after the first night I kinda just hung out w/ a couple of friends and we went to the stack every once in a while but didn't really participate fully in all the activities. So I would HIGHLY recommend the "411" on the first night because w/out that you would not know anyone the whole week. Sorry I couldn't be of more help...

I'm glad you had a good time, and thanks for your comments on The Stack. My 2 DSs, ages 16 and 13, will be there next month, and I hope they have as good of a time as you seemed to have.

Hey I'm Glad to help!

By the way...I LOVE your music on your website! Has that kind of Chevy Chase Vegas Vacation vibe to it!!

I'm glad you like it. LOL It's the theme to National Lampoon's Vacation, (which had Chevy Chase in it). We thought it would add a little humor to our "family vacations" web site. :p

Thanks for the enthusiastic info!

How did your DB(11) like the lab and other hang outs? My DS (to be 12) is looking forward to it. DS(7 and 7) will be in the Club.

DS(11) will have sign-out privileges and a fairly liberal (hmm, midnite?) curfew, but I expect him to eat breakfast and dinner (and maybe lunch now and then?) with the family. What do you think?

 :hyper:

Hey PoohJen,

My DB(11) loved the club! From the moment we woke up to when we went to bed we never saw him except for the three major meals. My parents didn't mind him staying out late (1a.m.) just as long as we knew where he was going to be at all times as well as some set rules like no going into other peoples rooms etc. Getting back to your question..yes, he loved all the activities the lab had to offer! He did almost everything from meeting people on the first day and making flubber w/ everyone. He had a blast. He also knew to check in every now and then and that worked out great.

Thanks! and DS(11) has another one for you: What can you tell us about Scoops? Soft serve or hard ice cream? Toppings?

He also wants to know about the water playground at CC, and what did you like at CC Thanks again!
  :bounce: :bounce: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper::earseek: :earseek: ::MickeyMo  :chat:

I LOVE SCOOPS!!!

It's all soft serve ice cream:

Chocolate
Vanilla
or Swirl

Toppings:

colored sprinkles
nuts
almounds
m&m's
chocolate syrup
butter scotch syrup

Castaway Cay:

The water playground was really fun! There were three different kinds of ropes to climb on as well as platforms to jump off into the water from. My favorite part of CC was our excursion, parasailing, I recommend doing that if you have a chance. I also liked the seascape....clear blue water, white sand, etc. Great for building huge sand castles! awww I can't wait t'ill I go back again!!!

Hope that awnsers your questions!!:D
