Just got back and SO disappointed

 I'm very sorry you are disappointed. :sad1: I too fell victim on my last trip. I got sick the first day of my vacation, just after getting off the plane and wasted a whole day in my hotel room. Luckily I called my DR and had him call in some antibiotics and I got better right away. :yay: My DS and DH have gotten really ill on previous trips. On one trip, on our first night in the park, my DS suddenly kneeled down and said he didn't feel well and that he had a bad headache. We tried Ibuprofen, and when that didn't work, headed back to our hotel at HOJO. By the time we walked back there and got to the room, he ran into the bathroom and had projectile vomiting -- all over the bathroom.:faint: Poor boy, he was so sick. Anyway, we called one of those Doctor on call places, doctor came out, gave him an antibiotic shot, a bottle of antibiotics to run the course, and whammo, next day, all better.:yay:
We spend so much $$$ just on airfare to get to take vacations that it's worth it to me to take the antibiotics if we have to so that the sick person feels better and everyone can relax and have fun. (Even then we take it a lot easier than normal.) BTW, even if it's a mean, nasty virus, the Doctor on call and my physician told me that the antibiotic will help to decrease the symptoms significantly and stop it from getting worse. The way I figure it, is what's another couple of hundred dollars in DR fees and medication when you've spent so much to get there in the first place? And it sure beats them being miserably ill and getting worse. Because our airfare costs so much, we do tend to take longer trips, though, and we can't afford the risk of something turning into pneumonia by the end of a 2.5 week vacation.
Imagine how many viruses/bacteria are floating around the planes? They disinfect for the Noro viruses on cruise ships, but they never spray disinfectant on the planes. The planes are constantly being turned over for another plane ride. Sometimes they don't even change out the blankets and pillows on the planes. They just refold them and put them in a seat. :scared1: Yuck! I bet the rides in DL are the same way. Do they ever take the time to spray disinfectant on any of the rides overnight when the park is closed? Imagine how many millions of dirty hands come in contact with the rides, doorhandles, tables, etc. :scared: eeewwww....
It must be quite common that people get sick when traveling because it has happened to at least one of us at least every other year on one trip or another. :sad2:
