:scared:So we just arrived back in COLD Michigan yesterday afternoon after spending a glorious 11 nights at the Fort! We're already planning our next trip in March or April of 2011 (Easter will be April 24th, 2011). We'd like to avoid the Easter crowds and maybe save a little money on nightly rates. :worship: Do any of you experts out there have any idea of approximately what the rates would be March 27th to April 8th, 2011? It's a few weeks before Easter, so I'm assuming the nightly rates would be a little less - or am I wrong? I just can't wait to get back!!!:lovestruc

According to my handy-dandy FW Rate Calculator:

...an undiscounted partial site for your dates is $780, Full $988, Preferred $1048, and Premium $1168 (all before tax).

These prices are this year's prices, since 2010 rates are not yet released. Once they are I will update the calculator. You can get the calculator here (it's an Excel spreadsheet, so you must have Excel to use it).

:santa:

Add some $ to that, you have 2 years of price increases to still happen.

Oh, 2011! The calc is pretty much useless for that, sorry. I don't even have the holiday or rate periods figured for 2011 yet, sorry.

I guess we'd better start saving, right? I'm sure it'll be $1,200 and some change for a premium. :rolleyes1 Oh well, it's soooooo worth it!!! Thank you for your prompt replies!

Shan-man Love that calculator! You have thought of everything:thumbsup2

Thank you Cindy, I'm delighted you find it useful.

Welcome home. :wave2:

As far as your desire to plan your next trip, wait until the credit card bill arrives, that will lessen your desire.

SewBzzzy and Beagles - how long of a drive is it to FW from Michigan pulling a trailer? We have a 5th wheel and I really want to plan a trip down but when we go will depend on how much time we need to allow for driving.
Thanks!

We drive a motor home down but your travel time should be the same. We usually leave early in the morning and drive all day, stopping in southern Ga(the goal is to get south of Atlanta) for the night. We get up the next morning and drive 4 hours or so and we are there. It is usually about 20 hours of total driving.

We drive from Northern Il and it takes about 20 hr pulling a trailer. We leave 2-3 am and dirve until we get to Valdosta GA. From there it's an easy drive to the Fort

Valdosta has been our stopping point the last 3 trips. Makes for a long 1st day but it is worth it.

We drive down in a motorhome now, but we've driven it with a pop-up and trailer in the past. Depending on the number of stops and the ages of your children (from mid-Michigan), it'll take about 23 to 25 hours. Like I said, much depends on the number and length of your stops for gas, eating, etc. When traveling in the motorhome, we are able to use our own restroom and make sandwiches on the road - which saves time. We've driven straight through before - 24 hours without stopping - but we're getting too old for that now. :yay: This year, we split it up into 2-1/2 days down and 2-1/2 days back because we were traveling with a 10 month old grandaughter. :cool1: However, our favorite way to do it is leave Michigan at 6:00 or 7:00 p.m., drive through the night and arrive at Valdosta in the early afternoon. We spend the night there at Eagles Roost or the KOA, then continue on for the additional 4 hours or so the next morning. :cloud9: Hope that helps!

Thanks - very helpful information. We don't have any young children but we do have a Golden Retriever who loves to go camping :dogdance: We wouldn't dream of leaving him behind.
