There will be a more thorough Trip Report in the days to come, but here are a few of my "Random Thoughts" on my families first visit to WDW!!
1. Wegoshop is a great service, their communication is wonderful and they brought exactly what we asked for.
2. When using a Food Service Delivery such as Wegoshop, DON’T order too much!! We threw out A LOT of food/milk/pop when we left because we ordered more than what we really had time/appetite to eat and drink.
3. It is amazing how spotless they keep WDW all the time. For the thousands of people that are walking around, you hardly EVER see a scrap of garbage on the ground.
4. The “quiet pool” at BCV was great, as cool as Storm along Bay is… it is mass chaos to try to keep track of your children. Our kids enjoyed the quiet pool just as much and several times we had the pool/hot tub to ourselves.
5. The Disney Dining Plan is great (but not necessarily a bargain); I really liked it for several reasons:
a) Never having to pull out my wallet when we wanted a snack or meal.
b) We ate “better” because we were on the DDP, I am a self admitted “frugal” shopper and if we were not on the DDP I would have been thinking to myself “yeah that ½ chicken looks good, but it is $3.00 more than the hot dog so I guess I can get by with the hot dog or burger.”
c) Basically I think we ate more quality food and more variety (including character meals) because we were on the DDP. I can guarantee if we were not on the DDP we would not have been eating at 5 Table Service meals and gotten so many great pictures with the Disney Characters.
6. The Strollers were PRICELESS!!!
We debated whether to bring them for two 6 year olds, but my smart wife decided to get two umbrella strollers ($13.00 each) and they paid for their selves 10 times over. We would have never covered as many shows and attractions without them.
7. Honest People THANK YOU…..I left my Cell Phone in the bathroom at Planet Watch (AK) and figured it was a goner when I realized it an hour later.
I asked a Cast Member about lost and found. When we left the park 3 hours later we checked at the Guest Relations building near the entrance. I just had to give an accurate description of it; they came out with it and gave it back to me.
8. Great Customer Service at Resorts- My son Aaron got some pretty good slivers by running his hand down one of the rails. My wife took him to the front desk of BCV to ask about first aid. Their only option was to take him to a Fast Care facility and it would take at least two hours.
My wife decided that we would “extract” the slivers ourselves, but the Manager gave Aaron a really nice “Goofy” stuffed animal to make him feel better. A while later the manager called our room to check how he was doing, we told him that Aaron was fine now, but his twin brother was a little pouty because he didn’t get a “Goofy Toy”, HA-HA.
About 10 minutes later there was a knock on our door, and the manager had sent someone up with another “Goofy Doll” for Ryan. What a great gesture that he didn’t have to do.
That's it for now I will try to post the start of the "Real Report" this weekend.
