I just got the following e-mail from Disney. I've never gotten anything like it before, so it must be something new they are doing. We have a tripped booked for December.

The title was "Now is the time to plan your Disney dining!" and the sender was listed as "Your Disney Vacation Planner".

Here's the message -

Many of our restaurants are quite popular and can fill up
quickly. That's why it's a good idea to call 1-800-933-3975
now to make your Priority Seating arrangements. This way you
won't miss out on any of our magical WALT DISNEY WORLD® dining experiences. Make sure you have your valid membership number for THE DISNEY CLUBSM ready when you call.

You mentioned you were interested in fine dining. We have many
award-winning restaurants here and our world-class chefs are
known for preparing extraordinary meals with that special Disney
flair. You might want to try:

YACHTSMAN STEAKHOUSE at DISNEY'S YACHT CLUB Resort — Splurge on
the absolute finest aged cuts of beef and other delicious entrees
prepared to perfection in the tradition of great steakhouses.

CITRICOS at DISNEY'S GRAND FLORIDIAN Resort & Spa — Treat
yourself to fresh, light, South-of-France cuisine served in a
sun-bronzed setting. Pair your meal with a special wine from
their extensive list.

BISTRO DE PARIS in the French pavilion at EPCOT® — You're
instantly transported to elegant 20th century Paris where the
central theme is gourmet French cuisine. Three legendary French
chefs produce memorable meals like honey-roasted rack of lamb
with grilled vegetables.

With so many great restaurants to choose from, you'll find
there's something to suit everyone's taste. To learn more, visit
disneyworld.com/dining for a list of some of the great
restaurants throughout the WALT DISNEY WORLD® Resort.
Then call 1-800-933-3975 to make your Priority Seating arrangements and be sure to have your valid membership number for THE DISNEY CLUB(SM) ready.

We hope you enjoy many wonderful meals on your vacation!

The funny part is the part where it says "You asked about fine dining . . . ." Um, no, I didn't. Actually we've already made all our PS arrangements for the trip. ;)

When you said you made your PS already, that may be why you got the e-mail. The DIS computer saw your PS list and here comes the "upsell" to more expensive places to eat. All those restaurants are nice, but in the Disney scheme, they are the $$$ restaurants.

I got the same one. Loved it because I would have forgotten to make my ressies for dinner. Not to mention the 800 number I always forget about them. But I hadn't made any of my Ps's yet so not sure how they figure who to send them to.

or renewed your membership recently that it probably why you got it.

I got one after I had updated my account info on www.disneyclub.com and checked Disney Dining as one of the things I was interested in.

I don't believe it was an "upsell". ;)

I get these emails 60 days before my next trip. I jsut got one last week for my October trip. It is a reminder to plan your meals for the trip.

I also got that email and I am not a Disney Club member. I got it about 60 days out and had not made any PS's since I am staying concierge this time and decided to let them do it.

We got the same thing, and we're not DC members. But I think I must have provided an email address to Disney at some point in the reservations process and I assumed that's where it came from. I had the same "you asked about" wording in the printed letters/brochures that came with my reservation confirmation sheets - I thought it was funny too, the stuff I never knew I'd asked about ;)

We just received the same E-mail except that it says "you mentioned you are interested in character meals" and goes on to list suggestions. We just renewed our DC just less than 60 days from out next visit.Since we have V and A,AP booked on the next trips. Are they trying to downsell?;) LOL We already had LTT and the Princess breakfast booked also.No rhyme or reason guess it was a random message.

CRO asked for my email when I called to check out prices for April yesterday, and today I received this email from them:

We're so glad you're thinking about taking a WALT DISNEY WORLD®
vacation, because there's nothing like your first visit to the
most magical place on earth. With so many things to do, the fun
is as unlimited as your imagination! Four Theme Parks, Water
Parks and more will make your WALT DISNEY WORLD vacation an
experience like no other.

Visit disneyworld.com, or call 1-800-933-3975 or your
Travel Agent to begin planning. Please have your valid
membership number for THE DISNEY CLUBSM ready when you call.

I image they are trying to use email to reach out and compell you to spend more. ;)
