Well, as once was said, "the best laid plans of mice and men" could have been describing our trip down to HH! I am a STRONG advocate of driving down in the early morning to avoid the DC area. Unfortunately, my younger son was quite sick, so I had to delay our trip by one day and was unable to leave until 9:00 am. I did not arrive until 11:30 pm! VA was one traffic delay after another. It took me 2 hours to get from the second rest stop in MD to just past DC. I was never so happy to see the Richmond bypass as I was the other day. To add to the misery, my little guy was throwing up every so often, which made the ride incredibly tense.

The CM's @ HH are truly the best, as so many have commented before. While driving down, we contacted Jerry, explained our situation and asked for phone numbers of local pharmacies so we could have our pediatrician fax a prescription down there. He was very helpful and my wife was pleased at how much concern he exhibited for the little guy. When we arrived, our plight was well known, and I experienced the fatsest check-in ever! We had made a cash ressie for Saturday night in a studio and were to move to a GV the following day. We didn't even carry up luggage, preferring to collapse in the beds.

The following day, when we moved to the GV, the CM's made every effort to get us in to the room as early as possible so that the little guy could rest properly. They then sent up milk and cookies with a get well card and a card from Shadow! He was very pleased.

This is our second time in a GV here. This time we are in Building 30, which has a side view of the marina from the balcony as well as an interior view toward the pool, although you really can't see the pool. The cross-breeze is wonderful and the other plus is that you can unpack relatively close to the unit without needing to use one of the luggage carts. It is a wonderful location even without a marsh view!

The weather has been wonderful. If you have any questions, let me know. We leave on 1-2.
