Disney has to have an idea of what phases and best case reopening dates will be. I just wish they would announce that...with planning, training, and supplies taken into account the earliest date the resorts could open is ______, and parks with limited experiences earliest date of _______. Then back those dates up week by week as needed. Allow people time to cancel things and give the airlines a chance to adjust their flights. Just give us something...

Why do you think this is even remotely possible?

I think part of the OP questions comes from the anxiety of not knowing what the future holds for all of us when it comes to Disney or anything else for that matter. I can fully appreciate the wanting to know, I am a planner and not knowing is a hard thing for people like me. I'm so thankful that my next trip isn't scheduled until the later part of Jan 2021, I'm hoping by that time there will be some degree of normality at WDW and the world (but who really knows?).

When they try that they get grief for it. They thought the resorts would be open by 6/1 and now they have to cancel reservations. This is going to take time and baby steps. Disney Springs is going to be a limited test. They will get some data from watching Shanghai Disney. They don’t want to open early only to have to shutter again. That would be a disaster. They also won’t open if it’s actually economically better to stay closed.

I think this is a good example of why Disney cannot hazard a guess--this is from this morning's LA Times...I am copying the first two paragraphs and providing the link:

Los Angeles County’s stay-at-home orders will “with all certainty” be extended for the next three months, county Public Health Director Barbara Ferrer acknowledged during a Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday.

Although county health officer Dr. Muntu Davis has not issued an official extension, Ferrer said that timeline would shorten only if there was a “dramatic change to the virus and tools at hand.”

While Disneyland is not in LA County but in neighboring Orange County, I think LA's stance will impact Orange County officials' recommendations and orders.

The minute they say the earlier date is X everybody is going to assume they are opening X and take it as gospel. Shoot disney never announced they were going to open JUune 1 but because they kept taking reservations for June first a lot of people assumed (and even still assume) they are opening June 1.

Disney can't win here.
