People don't hate individual Congresspeople — they hate the failed LEADERSHIP of Congress. Those leaders are DEMOCRATS, and have been since 2006, which coincides with when Congress's approval rating started to nosedive. The democrat-controlled Congress has the lowest approval ratings in Congressional history. This is a direct result of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid's failed leadership and partisan warfare.

Yes, that's just the stupidity of many American voters. They seem to think Congress doesn't matter, so they just elect the same doofus that was already there just because they vote on party lines.

other than the immediate months after 9/11, congressional approval seems to rarely get above 50%.... the current rating might be the historic low since they have been gathering the data, but is that really surprising considering the economic climate right now? To put it bluntly, things suck, and when things suck, people aren't going to be praising the people in charge of the government..... if things start to turn around (might be awhile), that rating will start to go up.... that's just the way it goes.

What I don't understand is why the democrat members don't replace them?? You keep hearing that there are more moderate democrats than radical ones.

You may wish to look at the facts.

George Bush had exceptionally high approval ratings after 9/11. The country was united. People were not constantly bashing. Bush, by his actions drove his approval ratings to where they are now.

Its just so funny to see the sour grapes weeks after the election.

I do not recall threads after 2000 and 2004 in which the losers continued to berate the winners and name call.

I thought DISers were a smarter, more mature group. Guess not.

Actually, pretty much the opposite. The winners were constantly berating the losers. after the 2000 election. On the DIS, on 9/12/01 More than a few nasty uncooth DISers couldn't wait to use the disaster from the day before to explain why it would have been so bad if Al Gore had been President.

I mean using such an incredible disaster in which people were still buried alive and dying (let alone thousands dead) as a platform to say "neener neener neener". That is not just partisan.....that is ugly.
