Hi, saw some controversy on here recently about way.com tickets and whether they were a legit operation. I bought my 3 day hopper through them a couple of weeks ago at $244, where DL's price was $275. They sent me the same email voucher that DL sends, I took it to the turnstile on my trip last week, and had no issues whatsoever. Just like a regular e-mail ticket.

Also, I decided on day 2 that I'd upgrade to a 4-day, since I had half the day free before I had to catch my shuttle, so I upgraded at the ticket booths on the Esplanade. It cost the same as it would have with DL-issued tickets... $25... if I'd bought 4-day hoppers through way.com I'd have saved $4. But again, no issues whatsoever. They are legit and a Disney-sanctioned distributor.

So are you saying to upgrade costs just the difference between the 3 day and a 4 day on gate prices? Sorry if this is confusing... We bought 4 day passes through way.com. I assumed if I wanted to upgrade after buying through way.com I would have to pay the full difference between what I paid way.com and what DLR charges at the gate for a 5 day pass. But it seems like what you're saying is I would have to pay just the difference between what DLR charges at the gate for a 4 day and what DLR charges for a 5 day pass. This would mean we could upgrade from 4 day to 5 day passes for $74 vs the $200 I thought it was going to be (for 5 of us). Can you confirm?

The answer is maybe. Some people have been able to upgrade by paying the gate price difference and others have reported having to pay the difference between what they paid and the gate price. I've never upgraded Way.com tickets but I have upgraded an Airmiles ticket from a 5 day to an AP and I paid the difference between the gate price for the hopper and the gate price for the AP.

If you go to the ticket booths there at Disneyland, on the Esplanade, before the end of your last day, to add a day... all you're handing them is your regular ticket, which was given to you when you handed over the voucher at the turnstile your first day. They don't go look up where you got it, or what price it was. All they know is that you have a 3-day pass (or 4-day, in your case) and they are charging you only for the difference between the list price of one more day. So, yes, you'll only be charged the difference for the Disneyland price of one more day.

Awesome! This also means we can upgrade on the fly instead of having to decide ahead like I thought we would! Now if we don't hit traffic and we're not too tired we can hit the parks after our beach day on Sunday night! Thanks for the info!!!

thank you for this! we're considering using way.com as those are the cheapest tickets we can find

Thanks for posting! We have bought from them once before but it is a lot of money to trust to any company so I appreciate the extra reassurance!
