I think I've been on the DIS boards for nearly a year, and this is the first time I've come over to see what the W.I.S.H. Board is all about! My reaction? COOL!! Can I join in? I have my 20 year high school reunion in July and want to drop some weight.

From January to May of 2002 I did WW, and lost 19 1/2 lbs. (I still had more to go). Since then I've gained about 6 or 7 of those pounds back. (But it feels like more.)

Is anyone following the Sugarbusters plan? I read the book a few years ago and followed it for a short time. I felt great while doing it, but found it hard to order in restaurants. (Not too many places that serve sweet potatoes and whole wheat pasta.)

I guess I need to decide how I am going to do this. If anyone has any advice, please, I'm all ears.

I do Atkins...and I know there are some similarities, but I really just wanted to WELCOME you to the WISH board!!!!! Lots of info and friendly faces over here!!! Hope you enjoy and stay a while :)

But you have come to the right place for support and encouragement. There is so much motivation here, you can feel through the computer lines.;)

Sorry I don't have any advice about the sugarbusters. There may be someone that could offer some suggestions for you. Good luck with your plan.

I am on WW and I love the program (although every now and then I toy with the idea of Atkins because so many people here are having LOADS of success with it!)

Good luck with whatever plan you decide on. My advice would be to make sure you get up and move at least 3 times a week to start with and then add more movement as time goes by! Every little bit helps!

Hope to see you posting here often!!!! Set some small goals for yourself so you have plenty of reasons to celebrate (we are always looking for a good reason to shout WOO-HOO!) ;)

I just found this forum yesterday also!!

I'm doing Atkins also.... and boy is Glo my idol now! hehe I've lost 32lbs and over 31.5 inches since Feb 26th (didn't measure the first week-big mistake LOL) and I hope I do as well as Glo has!

Anyway, welcome to the forum- from one newbie here to another. :)
 
Thanks for all your words of encouragement. I am starting WW today! I got on the scale this morning (flat footed after calibrating it, LOL), and I've gained 9 of the 19 1/2 lbs I lost last year -- not 6 or 7!

So, my 10 week goal is 15 lbs. This may not sound like a lot, but I'm slow to lose weight. I usually lose a few the first week, and then I average less than a pound a week. I confess, I'm a weekend hedonist. But, it keeps my sanity in check.

I'm going to start a journal on the journal page.
 
WELCOME TO WISH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do WW. There are many WW people, many Atkins people and many others doing many other things!!!!!! The one thing we have in common is a goal to be healthier and support each other!!!! This is a great place to come!!! I look forward to seeing you on the board.
 
Hi Barb, it's really great to see you here on WISH. I've never tried the Sugar Busters plan, I don't really know what that is all about, I follow Atkins and have had wonderful success, so has my husband.

The wonderful thing about WISH is that it doesn't really matter which eating plan you follow there is someone here that has followed that plan before or knows someone who has followed it.

The really best part of WISH is that it is a huge and caring support group. The plan you follow is irrelevant--we are just here to help you through the days, good and bad. All we ask in return is that you will be here for <i>us</i> when we need a little encouragement or help through a food craving.

WISH is a great place. It's fun and it is empowering. I'm really glad you are here now. You are a great addition to my support group.

There is a clique here on WISH...every single WISHer is a member, too :teeth:

When you decide which eating plan you will follow we'll be here to help you through. I don't know how much weight you want to lose by July but I know you can make a serious dent in anything less than 30 pounds by then, if you work hard :)

Grab your clipart and join in with us. There is a great post by wovenwonder telling you how to do that right <b>HERE</b>. When you lose your first five pounds you get a new clipart and a new one for every 5 pounds you lose. I imagine you will be adding new clippies very quickly :)

Sit here by me, or over there by glo, where's Kelsie?. Oh, it doesn't matter where you sit, just grab a place. Everyone here is ready to talk your ear off (except for the lurkers--they are very quiet souls--friendly though).
