I just found out I'm pregnant! I haven't even been to my doctor yet. I think I must be around 2 weeks, 4 at the most. I am leaving in 9 days for an all girl trip with a newbie and her daughter. I was so excited to go an all the big rides with my friend. Since I'll be around 4weeks or so what rides can I do. What rides have you done early in your pregnagncy? I went once before pregnant but I was 4 1/2 months along, so I didn't ride anything but the small stuff. I worried that my newbie friend won't have fun because she loves thrill rides and now I'm stuck watching the kids while she goes on the rides. Any tips please.

First of all.... CONGRATULATIONS........ you must be so excited :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: There are still many rides you can go on and plus Disney id about more than the rides. There are so many great and fun things to do besides the rides. You can go play minature golf, go swimming, walk around DD, go and visit the boardwalk. Your friend is going to completley understand especially if she has a child, if I read that right. You will still have a blast. In actuality you can go on the majority of the rides, just not the thrill ones.

Check with your doctor. At this early stage it might be different than you think!!!!

Thank you. We are only going for five days. I really don't want to do golf and downtown disney. I have been to Dinsey plenty of times. This trip wil be the 3 time this year. The trip was for my friend and her daughter. I really wanted to do those thrill rides with my friend. I wasn't even going to take the test till I got home from the trip. I'm really early, like I said I think about 2 weeks.

Personally, I would skip:

MK:
Teacups (for spinning)
Space Mountain
Big Thunder Mountain
Splash Mountain (I personally would probably do this at your stage though)

Epcot:
Mission Space
Test Track (again, I probably would do this at your stage though)

MGM:
Tower of Terror
Rock'n Roller Coaster

Animal Kingdom:
Dinosaur
Primevil Whirl

That is basically what I am plannign on skipping on our trip in December. I have a few more on my list though since I will be much further along than you will be (I'll be about 24 weeks then). It seems like a lot, but there is really so much left that you can do, so you will still have a great time!

I'd talk to my doc. I will be 14wks when we go in Nov. I plan to skip all the thrill and spinning rides. The eating will be the best part! :earsgirl:

CONGRATULATIONS!!! You should definetly talk with your doctor...the good thing is, you're going to Disney, and there's so many "tame" rides you can enjoy. I would especially stay away from anything too jerky (space mountain) or things like Mission Space. Enjoy!!

Congratulations.

This is a good question. Hopefully by the time we go in May the wife will be pregnant too, so I'm just going to lurk here.

:rolleyes1

WOW! CONGRATS! That is wonderful!
Have fun. I would consult with your DTR first. You are still really early in your pregnancy though. I don't believe riding any of the rides would cause a problem, BUT I do not have a degree in that field, so.. what do I know!
Once again, congrats to you and your hubby!
Have fun with your friend in Disney!

I went at 9-11 weeks and rode everything except Mission Space. It was my 4th pregnancy and MD said it was okay. Mind you I only went on TOT and Splash and RNR one time in a row. Normally would have ridden 3-4 times in a row. DD is 13 months old and my healthiest one yet.

Please...do what your doctor says is okay, not what the people (including me) say on this board. Babies are precious commodities :flower:

Thanks everyone! I spoke to the physician-on-call at my OBGYN today. She said I'm so early that they won't even see me until Oct 18 when I come home. I guess the way they count I'm 4 weeks along. (My daughter is 5 now and I forgot a lot of things) She said that she wouldn't recommend going on the big things that have a lot of G's or even space mountain. But she said several times, but your so early it shouldn't be a problem. Than she repeated there shouldn't be a problem but if later you start bleeding you wouldn't want to think 'oh I shouldn't have gone on that ride'. I think I will just see how I feel. I wasn't going to go on Mission Space again anyway so that's not a big loss but I really wanted to ride TOT and RNR with my friend. So thanks Camping Griswald I might think about it after I talk with my DH.

I went to WDW Jan 2004 when I was 8 weeks pregnant (right in the middle of all the sickness, but I felt much better while at WDW.) My friend who went with us found out she too was pregnant hours before she got on the plane.

I saw my DD 1st and he told me that I could ride anything I felt up to since the baby was so small at that point, there really wasn't anything a ride could do it it.

We did a lot, and skipped the really big ones (Space montain, RR, TT, TM) Mostly because we didn't have the time for baby swaps and it was just eaiser that way.

I did ride, MS (hey I was already throwing up all the time) Dinosuar, safari ride, tea pots,

Do what you are comfortable with though.

(that cute baby in my sig, she rode MS at 8 weeks in mommy.)

Your welcome! So many people here have so many opinions and VOICE them if you know what I mean!!

To be honest lots of people in your stage of pregnancy don't even know that they ARE pregnant, so they would probably go on the rides anyway, and not know if they are or are not harming the fetus. That is probably why the OB on call said "you're so early" :goodvibes

Good luck to you on both your vacation and having a healthy happy Disney lovin' baby

To be honest lots of people in your stage of pregnancy don't even know that they ARE pregnant, so they would probably go on the rides anyway, and not know if they are or are not harming the fetus. That's what I thought too. I think everything will be fine. She asked if I had any miscarriages and when I said "No" she repeated it shouldn't be a problem. I'm not sick yet ( hopefully Iwouldn't be) I only got sick at night with my first daughter. So I'll see how it goes.

First of all, huge congratulations! How exciting!!!

Secondly, I would just listen to your body. I was 11 wks pg with DD2 during one WDW trip, and I started bleeding heavily. I had not ridden one single "thrill" ride or anything! I just did too much walking. We spent one whole day in the ER at Celebration Hospital where they told me I had two options: 1) go home or 2) ride in a wheelchair throughout the rest of the trip. We opted for number 2.

You know your limitations better than anyone. Try to take it easy, drink lots of water and don't overdo it! Most importantly....HAVE FUN!

CONGRATS AGAIN!
