Just found a few hundred dollars for Disney!

A couple of weeks ago, I was looking at our car insurance and noticed that they had DH listed as having 1 speeding ticket on 3/8/09, 1 accident on same day and 1 accident involving property damage! I know DH had the speeding ticket on that day and we both remember it vividly since it happened right before we moved cross country, but there never were ANY accidents that day let alone 2. Long story kinda short, DH called the insurance company and after a couple of weeks, no one can figure out where the accidents came from but we have been being charged for them for almost a year! So, our insurance was lowered $26 a month and we'll be getting a credit of at least $300 for the differences in what our premiums should have been and what we were actually being charged for the last year! So we've "found" $26 a month we can put toward our Disney fund and when the credit goes through we'll put that "found" money in the fund too!

So, I recommend everyone check what accidents or violations are on your driving record and what your car insurance company has listed. And question any differences!

We're able to pull up our policy online. It lists the drivers and under each driver it list the accidents and/or violations. And then my DH just called the motor vehicle department that his license is from (Oregon) and they told him what was on his record. They also would have mailed him a copy of his driver's record if he paid a fee. We have Nationwide insurance, if that helps. You should also be able to call your insurance company and they should tell you what they have listed.

That's when we found it too! Our new policy starts 4/20, and I was double checking my math because it was going down by $4 a month! And I was so excited for that extra $4!

Just got our credit for being overcharged for the past year and it was for $487! Add that to the $156 we were already saving after they redid our policy for the next 6 months; we "found" $643 for Disney!

Chase Freedom Credit Card sent me a letter in the mail saying I didn't receive credit for the 3X promotion. Therefore, they would be adding 1,250 points into our rewards account!!! Yay!!!

Not so much "found" but saved-

I knew I was going to owe the IRS (long story) so I had put aside $3000 to eliminate the panic when I had to write checks to the federal and state governments.

My accountant told me yesterday that I "only" owe $1500

Needless to say, I'm relieved and the leftover cash will stay in savings

(maybe I'll take $100 and get a massage )
