Just for fun: Race Spectator Signs

During the PHM 2014.... running up main street...punch for power poster......loved it!

That actually reminds me of one I saw at Tink this year around mile 11ish: Hit for speed boost (picture of Mario Kart mushroom on poster)

About a half dozen (at least) runners including myself were taking the lady up on the offer and hitting the poster lightly as we ran by.

"Worst Parade Ever" is always a good one!

Saw one at the Enchanted 10k that said "You look hot when you sweat!"

"Free High Fives"

"Smile if you just peed a little" I dare you to look at this and not smile...then laugh at yourself for that

I've seen a lot of variations on "I thought they said RUM!"

"The beer at the finish line won't drink itself"

"Your training got you this far, your heart will get you home"

"Worst Parade Ever" is always a good one!

A friend who runs some of the same races as I do and I have a standing wagers on the number of "Worst Parade Ever" signs we see at the races we run. One of us will set an Over/Under line and the other will pick over or under that.

Haha, I understand. It's a rather popular sign. I know whatever I come up with won't be *entirely* original, but I'd prefer to stay away from "Go random stranger!" and others that have become staples at races :)

From the 2013 Wine & DIne Half around mile 11: "You have stamina. Call me."

:goodvibes

That was my favorite from W&D! It made me literally LOL!

Probably not Disney friendly, but at the Gate River Run I also laughed mid-run at a pair of signs, the first said "Faster, Faster, Harder, Keep Going!" and the second said "That's What She Said!". OMG. :rotfl2:

And at TOT last year it was "worst electrical parade ever". :)

At WDW this year, I saw a sign that said something along the lines of "you know they have buses and monorails here to get around?"

I thought it was original and perfect for Disney

At the PHM 2014, just before you hit the TTC: "Hurry up, Daytona starts in 5 hours!".

I also see signs with "Go Jim" or "Go Lisa" or another popular name and I always wonder to myself if the sign is intended for a particular "Lisa" or if the sign maker is just 'playing the odds'.

I ran the Philly half right after Kim Kardashian divorced that basketball guy so there were plenty of "you've trained longer than Kim Kardashian's marriage" signs! :lmao:

I thought they said RUM is one of my favorites.

Just don't do "you're almost there" or "1 mile to go" or anything like that. I have a shirt that a friend got me that says unless you are standing under a sign that says "mile 13" don't tell me I'm almost there! :) but I am forever grateful to the cast member who was working the last backstage stretch at tink who said that the finish line was just around the corner. She wasn't lying and it was and it was very helpful.

It always makes me crazy when a number of people (like 5) over a half mile span give you the exact same tally on how far you have left. Makes it feel like that last stretch goes forrrrrever!
