Just finished a quick three-day stay at Port Orleans, French Quarter. Visited Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom and Epcot, in addition to two Braves spring training baseball games, and a performance of Cirque du Soleil.

I'd be glad to answer any questions y'all may have.

No questions - but we've stayed at POFQ and loved it. Sounds like you had a great trip! Thanks for posting!

How long is the ride from POFQ to all of the resorts? Going in June and trying to plan ADR's. Also, how big is the swimming pool? :sunny:

I'm staying there on my next visit. Could you tell me what you thought of the food court if you went there?

I stayed at POR, but I walked over to FQ one morning for Beignets. Food courts in both resorts are fine, not spectacular. Both have nice pools. The bus rides were usually very convenient and I can't imagine we could have gotten there any faster by driving.

Vital - the busses do not go directly to each resort. If you are going to a resort on the monorail loop, you can catch a bus to the MK and hop the monorail. If you have a rental car, you can drive directly to the resort (which is what we do) or you can take a taxi (not sure of the cost).

Remmy - DH & DD love the food court. It has separate stations for the type of food you want. They have wraps, burgers, sandwiches, snacks, etc. They also have an ice cream area where you can get a cone as opposed to getting the wrapped ice cream. We love it!

Hope this helps.

Remmy 7 -- the food court at Port Orleans French Quarter is very good. I usually only use it for breakfast, but looks OK for other meals as well.

Vital -- the pool is large enough for the size of the resort, and the slide is a favorite of the children. Some ratings have the POFQ pool rated as the second best of the resort pools at WDW. (And there's a nice, but small, pool side bar as well.)

As pointed out elsewhere, none of the resorts have direct bus service to any other resort at WDW. I used the taxi service a couple of times during my recent stay. Once from the Sports Complex (baseball game) to FOFQ, and the fare, including tip, was about $14.00. The other trip was from Disney Downtown - West Side, to POFQ, and the fare, including tip, was about $7.00.

However, if you are at the shopping site, Downtown - East Side there is both bus and boat transportation to the resort.

Enjoy.

 OOOPS!!!! I meant travel time to the parks! You can tell I'm a first timer :)

Travel times to the parks depend on which park you are going to, but as I recall, the bus went directly to all the parks except AK. The AK bus stopped at a water park along the way. I was very pleased with the bus service to the parks. I would not want to drive myself, because I find it really easy to get lost around there. :confused3
