Has anyone else read this? I cried throughout the whole book. I was so moved by it. Maybe because that is my biggest fear as a mother - that I will lose my daughter to some tragedy. I constantly hugged her those whole time I read the book.

Since it was so good, I hope they do not make it into a movie. Seems that a large percentage of books into movies are horrible.

I have it on reserve at the library, so I'm waiting for my turn. I was like #68 on the list.

This book haunted me and I had a terrible time getting thru it....had I known I would have never picked it up in the first place.

I know what you mean- I wasn't quite sure of how deep the book went, but it really had a pull on me. I lost an aunt to Lukemia and have always felt that she is "with me", like Susie was in the book with her family.

I guess I am in the minority but I really hated this book. I enjoyed the premise of the book and I really enjoyed the first 50 pages even though they were disturbing but the futher into the book I got the more I started to dislike it. I guess I just envisioned the story going in a different direction.

It made me cry, too. I can't wait to read it again. The setting for the story is around here. The murder takes place in the town where Gene works and our town is mentioned in the book. :)

I can't read it, I can't handle the subject matter.

I read the book about a month ago and really liked it. I thought the book was sad but also really made me think about what Heaven might be like. This is definetly a book to discuss with others

I enjoyed it. The subject matter didn't bother me... I treat it as fiction the whole time I'm reading, which helps me not get too sad. ;) I enjoyed her other book "Lucky" even more. It's a true story of her life.

What is it about? I've never heard of it.

I read it and thought it was good.. except for one part, but I will not share it here in case others want to read it.. It was a difficult one to read..especially as a Mom of daughters...

It's about a 14 year old girl who is murdered and is looking down at earth from heaven.

Over the next several years she watches her murderer, her family, and friends go on with life without her.

It's a very unique plot, but kind of depressing.

Becka,
you are not alone. I hated this book too. I found it to be very disturbing and depressing, and I also hated the way it ended. I thought that the character development was lacking also.

I am going to the library to pick up Lucky. Is that her first book?

Yes, Lucky was her first book. It's nonfiction. :) I really liked it.

I thought about buying it and reading it over Christmas break. Is the plot like a murder mystery or does it focus on relationships?

It's not a murder mystery at all. It's more about how her family deals with her murder.
