I haven't seen the movie yet, but reading the book, I have to say that twist in a book is hard to pull off.

Especially since the book was written form Teddy's point of view. Can't wait to see the movie now!

I sat there at the end of the book just gasping. I couldn't believe it. I love Lehane's other books, and this one threw me over the edge. I haven't decided if I want to see the movie or not, knowing the twist at the end!

i loved the movie and didnt know it was a book! i pegged it going in, but there was so many twists to it. not many liked it, but i really did.

I read the book first and LOVED it I so did not see that ending coming and normally I can peg the ending of a book. I was DYING to see the movie and was able to see and thought it was absolutely HORRIBLE - maybe it was that I knew the ending, but I hated the movie and was very very disappointed. I guess it's kinda like "sixth sense" where if you know the ending it's not as good.

The movie was really good, IMO. However, had I known there WAS a twist, I would have figured it out. Not knowing that there was a twist allowed me to be surprised. I suspected a time or two, but dismissed it. So I was not spoiled.

I plan on reading the book. I watched the movie and LOVED it. The twist I was like, "Wow!"

Huh, I thought the movie sucked. And I wanted to punch Leonardo in the mouth because he was so annoying.

Loved the book though! :cool1:

I read the book, started watching the movie last night and will finish it this morning. Parts of it have been kind of strange already, maybe I'm not enjoying it as much since I DID read the book, and I know how it ends...I dunno...:confused3

I really enjoyed the book, looking forward to the movie. I hope the movie is good, I hate it when they vary the plot too much. Lehane is great.

I loved it, and was completely surprised. I mean, I knew there was going to be some sort of twist but that's not what I was expecting. One of the best movies I've ever seen.

Haven't read teh book, but we actually watched the movie this past weekend. My dh, who has an annoying habit of this, actually pegged the movie within the first five minutes. I thought the movie was long and SLOOOOOOOOW.

I'm usually really good at figuring out the ending of a book or movie. Reading the book, I did not see this coming! I think it was because the book was written from Teddy's perspective.

If you figured the book out, could you please PM me and tell me at what point the book gave it away? Because I have scanned back quite a few chapters to see if I missed anything, and I got nothing. Probably one of the best twist endings in a book I have ever read.

Also, if you could pm me(so as not to spoil it for anyone who has not read the book or saw the movie) who the woman in the cave was?

Oh no! I specifically went and got the book so I would be able to tell what was going on in the movie. The movie still came off with some strange parts, even though you knew the story?
