Just done DLRP - Where next??

We've just had a wonderful week at Disneyland Paris, taking my grandkids for their first Disney experience (read about it with the link below) and they are now bitten by the Disney bug. We are looking to return to WDW next year, but I don't know if anything below the AKL that we stayed in last year would be disappointing. Is the Wilderness Lodge generally cheaper than AKL or are they in the same price bracket?

Hi Kevin. They appear to be in the same price range, I looked at both when booking our next trip (Dec 08).

We decided to go with the Wilderness Lodge as we have stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge before and wanted to try somewhere else.

If my memory serves me it was slighty cheaper for 7 nights at WL but not much in it. Hope you have fun planning your next adventure.

WL is bit more expensive than AKL which is probably because WL is a magic kingdom resort.

How about renting points from a DVC owner? You can get good prices at great locations.

my advice is to stay offsite..... you can stay at the hilton grand vacations or some place like that for a fraction of the cost and have a bunch more space.

Of course you will then need to rent a car....

of course if you must stay in disney...In terms of quality.. ALL the resorts are good quality... yes WL and AKL are great.. but so is Port Orleans... and Coronado Springs....

we are DVC owners and we love DISNEY but we really enjoy staying offsite too. there are advantages and disadvantages and the financial advantages are very good imho
