Stayed offsite in September at WH - loved the resort, but decided that we really missed being onsite so I posted that we wouldn't book offsite again.

Well, decided tonight that we're cancelling our Poly CL reservation to stay in a 3 bedroom pool house in WH in October!! I'm so excited about it!! My DD will be almost 2 in October and the thought of being stuck in a small hotel room with no washer/dryer was killing me. The DVC rentals just didn't appeal to us since it seemed like they were either unavailable or were ones that had not been refurbished. Not to mention that even if a military discount is available in Oct, I would still be paying almost the same for a room vs. a house.

SO...now I'm thrilled to have a private pool, theater room, and game room all to ourselves. And to order Flipper's for dinner our first night ;)

TBH the washer dryer alone would get me! We do a load every night. There is no laundry basket, all dirty clothes go straight in the washer (No special rx for whites either!). I can't imagine how many bags we would have to lug with us without a waher dryer.

you don't to pick one over the other.

there are several of us here who do both.

kept in mind that the food & wine is going on at Epcot.

with DVC you need to make a reservation in Nov for Oct - especially for BWV or BCV

Space is what wins me over to offsite. We're DVC members and I gifted someone a trip so I was low on points thus, WBC. Even when I have points, if nothing at least 1 bd or larger is available, we go offsite or get 2 rooms onsite. Usually there are 4 or more of us and 1 hotel room is just too tight. This trip was the perfect time for us to try WBC because the onsite discounts are not that great.

It's not our choice, but I'm so glad you found an option that has you this excited!

I swore in 2002 that we would never, ever stay offsite again. We stayed offsite for NYE as we refused to pay $200 for a value room. Just booked our May-June trip and we are spending half of it offsite again. We also started to look for New Year, just contacted an owner at Reunion (where we are staying offsite) and we are paying that deposit today.

Not only do we get more room, but, paying so much for a value room is really ridiculous. Will keep our September trip onsite (for now) at the WL because we booked it with a Bounce Back. We CAN afford to pay up to $400 a night and we have gladly done so at NYC, Chicago, San Francisco and europe, but, I REFUSE to do it at Disney... :headache:

Both of these were still available, but we had heard not so good things about BCV and then decided with a 2 year old being close to F&W was not as important as it normally would be for us.
The only DVC we could not get was BLT 1 br and Jambo cl 1br (our choices Murphy's law lol)
