Just did OLCI but it won't allow me to print a boarding pass...

Hi guys!

I'm probably worrying about nothing, but just thought I'd check here :)

On my booking for my flights which are tomorrow (waaaaaaaaah :scared1:), I have two passengers; myself and my friend.

We are flying with BA, and so 24 hours before the flight, we have the option to check-in on line, and choose the seats etc etc. So I've just done that, and it allowed me to print my friend's boarding pass off, but next to my name, it says that printing the boarding pass is not available, and that I need to go to the check-in desk...

Just wondered why it did this for one passenger, but not for the other :confused3 Security checks possibly??

Too many reasons to know why.
I couldn't even do OLCI earlier this month. Couldn't understand why, got to the airport check in security, he couldn't get his laptop to accept us, saw a supervisor who said we had no return flight. I had paperwork to say we had. Turned out because we flew into Miami but back out of Tampa the system didn't recognise us having return flights.
Possibly a security check, possibly a computer glitch.:confused3

Thanks Wayne; sure it's nothing :thumbsup2

They've heard of you, Bethan, that's what it is :rotfl2:

Only kidding, as Wayne said, probably nothing to worry about. Can't believe you go tomorrow :cool1:

Hahahahaha :lmao: Funnily enough, that's pretty much the exact same thing that my Mum said when I told her ;) They don't know what they're letting themselves in for haha :goodvibes

I can't believe it either; leaving for Gatwick in 2 hours, still have clothes everywhere.... and congrats on booking your girly trip Joh :thumbsup2

Managed to check in this morning at the airport :) tried at the kiosk but still no luck, the screen told me I had to speak to staff as there was an important message.

Finally found a BA representative who was very helpful and took me to her computer. She managed to check me in; apparently there was a few questions about my residency ie was I living in the UK. I was a little confused, but apparently it might have stemmed from my old US visa :confused3

Anyhow, it's all sorted now, hopefully no problems on the other side!

Currently sitting in the North terminal with a ham and cheese croissant waiting for the gate to open. Life. Is. Good. :)

Have a great time!!!!!!!

Thanks both! And Isabel, I'll send some more blog links from the more recent years if I hear about them :)

I just got selected for extra security checks at the gate... Can't complain about a free massage :P the staff were lovely, really jokey; it was a little weird lol! Had my bags checked too, in full view of everyone. Not sure anyone was hoping for a face full of underwear but that's what they got!! :lmao: lucky it was all a last minute purchase yesterday on my way to the airport, so it was all new :)

Have also been informed that it's a full flight this morning! Busy, busy, busy!

My guess is that was why you had to check in at a desk - I was picked for the extra security check last time and couldn't complete online check in. They also searched us in full view of everyone and even patted down DD! They checked all our bags but there was no underwear in ours however DD's truni was carefully packed and they opened it to be attacked by soft toys!!!

Have a safe flight and enjoy the sun :beach:

I got pulled for extra security earlier this month, probably pick anyone who has had OLCI problems. Then coming home the body scanner operative at Tampa airport pulled Matt, they were not as Jokey as Manchester, full frisk & swabs off his hands. All clear but a lot more serious than UK airports.
I am not going to comment on your underwear:rotfl2:

Hope you have a great time.
I smiled when I read about you being stopped for extra security checks - DH has been checked like this 12 out of the 13 times we have gone to Florida, its a standing joke in our family that he just looks dodgy!! But the really funny thing is he works airside security at Heathrow :confused3

That's probably why he is checked more often than not.... working airside he would have access to secure areas and potentially be able to figure out ways to take things on board he shouldn't etc. they're just being safe.

If one of my drivers told me they'd hired a car for a week from our branch i would be checking the computer to make sure they had actually hired it and not just created a non-revenue vehicle movement for the duration. It's not that i don't trust them it's just standard procedure and their hire agreement has to be signed by a manager before it's sent for archiving. if it's not, it's my head on the block.... :goodvibes
