Just diagnosed with vertigo - which rides should I avoid?

in general I would keep away from Prime-evil Hurl (Primeval Whorl).

Here's my list of rides to avoid, if I want to keep my vertigo under control. I have diagnosed vertigo, but have always struggled with motion sickness. I take Bonine every day when at WDW (25mg meclizine) to be able to "do" what I can, but here is what I try to avoid:

MK: Space Mountain, AstroOrbiter, Tea Cups, Barnstormer. I can usually handle one trip on Dumbo, Magic Carpets, BTMRR, Liberty Belle, Carousel. I don't like Splash Mountain, but that's because of the drop. I have done it 6 times, and it's the drop, not the vertigo, that makes me avoid it.

EPCOT: Mission Space (either side). I am OK on TestTrak BUT the outside part, where you go around the track at high speed, is touch and go, I ride because it's so much fun! I don't do well on the Friendships inside World Showcase Lagoon, but am OK (if I've taken my bonine) riding them around the Boardwald/DHS waterway.

DHS: No Tower of Terror, Rockin roller coaster, Star Tours, Toy Story Midway Mania. TSMM is worse for me than ToT!

AK: No Primeval Whirl (Hurl! as DD calls it), Everest. I have to be careful on the Safari but LOVE it, and can only do one round of Dinosaur or Kali River Rapids.

Parking lot trams, monorail, and buses would do me in if not for the Bonine.

Mission Space
Star Tours
Soarin'
Philharmagic
Tea Cups
Astro Orbiter
Rock-n-Roller Coaster
Haunted Mansion- stretch room (they don't run these all the time ask a CM if they are running and if not...go for it!)
and also some of the film tours in World Showcase. I had to stare at the floor through them....the 360 view was hard to handle.
Reflections of China
Impressions de France
O Canada

- everything else was pretty tame even Space Mountain...

...I held my DH's arm most of the time when we were walking to keep me going in a straight line.
good idea - DH didn't understand how "unsettling" vertigo becomes until i walked directly into a brick wall (hard) in DHS.
my head hurt, but my pride was what took a real beating
i had another attack getting off TSM.....DD saw it coming, & the CM let me lean against a wall until it subsided.
i don't really care for fast/spinning rides anyway (closing my eyes or focusing on a stationery object helps) - forgetting that i have vertigo, and just walking into things is usually my biggest problem.

have fun!

I don't have vertigo, but I'd imagine Space Mountain would be one to avoid. It's highly disorienting even for somebody without this affliction.

Aww that's no fun! My mom had a vertigo attack not too long ago, she couldn't move her head what so ever! I agree, stay away from those moving screen rides. You'll probably be fine on all those "boat rides" like, pirates, Nemo, little mermaid, Toy story, small world.

I couldn't imagine dumbo being much fun. I would say anything that could make you 'dizzy' stay away from, so maybe some roller coasters will be okay!

You might check youtube for videos on how to do this at home, for yourself. It's pretty simple -- and might be useful to know once you're in the hotel room as all it requires is a pillow and a bed. There are several videos available, but none of them take too long to go through.

I have it too but rides do not bother me, except the tea cups. However the worst place in Disney for me is in the MK, the wooden walkway between Tom Sawyer rafts and the area near Splash/BTMRR makes me sick everytime. It has something to do with the way the wood planks are lined up, if I look down at all while walking on it I get instantly nauseous and cant hardly walk. I try to avoid it all together but sometimes during parades its either take it or be stuck til the end of the parade.
