My dd got Just Dance 2 for Christmas. On the cover, it says we can download the moves to "Firework" for free. However, when we try to do it, it says we must purchase "blocks" (or something like that).

Has anyone downloaded the free version? If so, could someone walk me through it? We haven't purchased online Wii things, so this is all new to me. I'm reluctant to have her just purchase it since it claims to have a free download...somehow:goodvibes

TIA

I don't know how to do it either, so I'm going to watch this thread and hope someone will respond with directions! My girls LOVE that song and have been asking us to do the free download since we got the game last month.

My kids just bought it with their Christmas money. I would love to know the answer as well.

I just got it. Blocks are just how much storage space is left on your Wii (like MB). As long as you have as many as the download needs, you are fine. You could also put the song on an SD card if you have one installed. The money comes when you are talking about Wii Points. Those you have to buy. The song is ) Wii Points. So, just click buy and it should download to your machine at no cost. Other songs cost about 300 Wii Points, which is equal to $3.00. You can buy Wii Points on cards or pay online through the Wii Shop Channel.

We got Fireworks and I think there are 2 other free ones you can download, provided you have to have the space to store them (the blocks).

PS - if I hear Toxic by Brittney Spears one more time, I might lose my mind ....

Right now at my house - DH and DD dancing to Big Girl by Mika.:rotfl2:

My kids repeat the Vampire Weekend song (I think its A Punk) OVER AND OVER because they like the goofy ballet parts!

and the I don't like your girlfriend one because they can pretend they are fighting and not get in trouble!

we also got the JD2... the moves for Fireworks were so disappointing to my teenagers.. they were excited bc they like the song.. but the dance moves are really boring. We also got Crazy Christmas they they have/ had fun doing.

Thank you!! We were able to download it last night, so dd is very happy now:goodvibes.

Her latest trouble is that her friend just got JD2, also, and they had fun dancing to another song that we can't find on our copy:confused3. She has sung the toon for me, and I know it has a part that goes "talk about it, talk about it", and she thinks it is Funky Town. On her friend's game, it has a little alien, or some kind of creature. Does anyone have this song on their copy??? I don't see it on the song list, but she said her friend had just opened it and played it for the first time when she was over visiting.

Dance Central for XBOX has that song...maybe they were playing that instead of JD2?

dd keeps trying to download it and buy it but its not working..Keeps telling us its downloaded and less blocks each time.. :confused3

DUH........i'm a little old for all this...
I figured iit out.. I had to put the game in...

My worlds collide! I was doing a search about JD2 and arrived right back here at the DISboards. Too funny!

We live in the boonies, and so use Verizon's MiFi mobile broadband for our only internet connection. We get 5GB of bandwidth a month.

I can get the Wii to connect to the Internet via the MiFi, but I'm worried about how much bandwidth it would take to download a new song for JD2. Do y'all have any idea how big the files are? Wouldn't you think that would be information they'd provide?!? For example, Pon de Replay is 233 blocks (??) and 300 Wii points (I saw above that's probably around $3.00). I don't mind paying the three bucks, but if it's 3 GB of my precious bandwidth, forget about it!

Do the "blocks" correspond to megabytes? Could it really be that simple? And where would I find how many "blocks" I have available?

Many thanks! The Wii feels like a brave new world!
