When staying longer than a week, how many of you do ADR's for every night of your stay, and how many break it up with counter service?

For our last trip (8 days in early October, 2007) we only did 4 TS meals for the whole trip. We graze through the F&W Festival booths many evenings, and have enough good CS favorites that we don't spend the time (or money) to do many TS meals.

We do TS dinner every night no matter how many days we are there. We like to have a nice relaxing dinner every night when we are on vacation.

We do TS every night we are there. The only exception would be if we do a signature restaurant one night, we will pay OOP for a CS one night. (We do the dining plan.):)

We do a table service place for dinner every night that we are there. By the time it rolls around we are happy to sit and relax!

We have ADR´s for every day for this trip. Some are for breakfast, some for lunch and some for dinner.

We always did a TS every night, except this past late July/Aug. we tried something new....we skipped a TS one night, so that on our last night we would have enough credits to dine at a 2 credit restaurant. We ate at the Yachtsman & LOVED it!!

We now plan to do the rest of our trips this way (except with our upcoming Thanksgiving trip...I'd already made my ADRs before we went this summer & tried the 2 TS credit thing. But with our trip next summer & other future trips, we will go ahead with our new plan).

With the dining plan, yes, everyday; some breakfast, a few lunch, mostly dinner. When we sign on to the plan we assume we'll eat TS everyday with the exception of 2TS credit restaurants/day off.

If was NOT doing the plan I really would do just CS some days. I guess am the minority here but sometimes it just seems like so much food...like we are constantly eating. Sometimes we like to wing it and eat CS wherever we happen to be and not be tied down to a TS reservation. Also, with kids those TS take up so much time. Don't get me wrong, we have enjoyed almost all of the restaurants that we have eaten at. It's just that now that we have done the plan a few times, I'd like to go with a little more freedom and just make ADR's for a few of the days.

We mix things up, we also *gasp* eat off site once in a while.

We always have at least one TS meal planned per day - no matter how many days we go. Many of the days we eat two TS meals

We always stay at least 8 nights, this time it's 10 nights. We do at least one TS meal each day, some days we do two. CS just isn't our thing, I guess. We have a few CS places that we like, but I'd go crazy without the TS meals.

Thanks for all your feedback.:goodvibes I was so curious what other families did. We were there last May on the dining plan for 8 days. Although I enjoyed the plan...my family was going a little bonkers. If everyone got hungry close to a dinner ADR, I became neurotic about eating too many snacks or trying a late cs place. I started feeling like the dining nazi. This coming May we're staying for 10 days. My DH asked me not to do the DDP this year to allow a little more freedom. So I was thinking of doing some TS and some CS. We always do a TS or room service for breakfast, because my son and husband only feel like they're on vacation when they get a big breakfast:)

I don't like having a sit down meal every day-- it's stressful to me to have to be at a certain place at a certain time everyday.

We are the kind of people that go to the bus stop and just get on the 1st bus that pulls up regardless of where it's going.

I'm going for 9 days soon and we have 3 adrs made.

I am going to Disney in less than a week and going without the dining plan this time.

The past 2 times I have gone in the summer and used the dining plan. We would eat breakfast in the room and counter service for lunch and table service for dinner. We liked having the sit down time in the evening but my kids are "big" kids..... teenagers....so alot of our dinners were very late.

I agree that I did feel like the dining police.

So this time 2 adults are going ala carte. I did schedule a few TS meals but we are leaving things open and plan to enjoy Food and Wine at Epcot and just eat when we are hungry without worrying about missing a scheduled ADR.

If you would like, when I get back I can let you know about my experiment of no dining plan and little meal planning..... I'm sure either way.... we wont starve.

Well DH likes a FULL hearty breakfast so we need a TS for that, I like having a lunchtime break somewhere comfortable in the parks instead of going back to our resort so I like to have a TS for that and young adult DS's have hollow legs so come dinner time we need a TS for that.
Also, we weren't very impressed with the CS options last time we went and found it difficult at times to get a table to sit at after we had bought our food.
So I guess we have a lot of TS's....at least 2 each day, a couple with 3 for our 7 day stay.

We typically stay seven nights. Breakfast is in the unit, and with a full kitchen, usually it is something substantial---toaster waffles, eggs, bacon, etc. All lunches and most dinners are in the parks/resorts. We've had anywhere from 2 to 6 TS meals during the week. The more we have, the more likely some of them are "small"---lunch at Sci Fi, dinner at Plaza, that sort of thing.

For our 9 day trip March/April we did TS breakfast and dinner almost every single day and snacked or shared CS lunches. That was way too much food so for our 10 trip this month I have 4 TS breakfasts, 3 TS lunches and 9 TS dinners planned. The rest we will wing it with CL at the AKL, F&W and CS stuff

We eat at least 2 TS meals a day if not 3. Actually 3 TS meals is the norm - waterpark days or late starts where we get room service or CS breakfast are the exception.

We always do at least 1 TS meal a day. That was back before the DxDDP came out. Now we do at least 2 a day. We go for longer trips. Usually 12-16 days. So it's nice to take our time and not rush around. Plus w/ our DD (7) and a new one on the way it's nice to take a break and relax in the air conditioning for an hour and have a nice meal.

Some days we do 3 ST meals a day. Ok so we go to eat!
