Has anyone ever had any trouble renting from here? I am a bit nervous about it. I have rented points for a couple of nights in February for my cousins, paid the person I am renting from, and I don't know...
I have the faxed confirmation that was sent to him, and it is in my cousins' names and all, but I was just thinking, what would prevent him from cancelling that reservation? Could he do that? Just me being paranoid, maybe...

No one has ever reported a problem with a confirmed reservation on this board.

To answer your question, yes, the reservation could be cancelled. Trust is certainly an important component of these arrangements. Many have requested references from members renting reservations and have paid using a credit card to provide some protection to the renter. Again, there has never been a report of a cancelled reservation made thru a listing on this board.

Just to second what Doc said...I have been on this board since the begining, five or six years. We have never had any reports of a problem. There is trust involved on both sides here. The member can certainly cancel any reservation, on the other side, the member will be held responsible for any trouble or damage caused by the renter.

I think that your best guarantee is that there has never been a reported problem. Members find this a VERY valuable resource to use to liquidate extra points and do not want to lose it.

Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for allaying my fears. As it turns out, the person I rented from responded to my email to him this morning, and I called MS and my ressie is safe and sound!
I really had a good feeling about the person I rented from. Just got a bit paranoid, I guess.
Oh, well, thanks again!
