Just curious...Why does All Star Music seem so unpopular?

This will be our 10th time visiting WDW but only our second time staying on WDW property. The last time we booked, the best rate was for ASMusic. We also stayed a few nights at the Caribbean Beach Club.

To make a long story short, we loved All Star Music. But as I've been watching rates for the Value Resorts that one is always less. So I'm guessing people just don't like it very well. I'm so puzzled, we loved it....and I understand it's the only pool (Value wise) that has fountains. We had a newly remodeled room and we loved the decor. Busses seemed to be efficient, and the staff was great.

Just curious why folks shy away from this property?

Couldn't give you an answer-we've only stayed there once but liked it enought that if we were going to stay at a value next time, first would be POP only because we haven't tried it yet, but out of the All Stars, I would pick music. Maybe the theming doesn't appeal as much to kids as the sports & characters over at movies do. I thought music was much quieter & less crowded with large groups. I thought the landscaping & benches were a nice touch too. My guess would be the theming isn't as "Wow" to the kids.

I thoink Sports is the least liked....Music seems less crowded, according to reports..it just got a refurb..has suites...looks very cute:)

music is actually the least booked. of the three, movies is the most popular, followed by sports and music. which in a sense is a plus since it means music is usually more quieter.

i don't know specifics why it doesn't appeal to most on a whole other than perhaps the decor.

Just a thought... but is Music the last one the bus goes to?? I know The allstars share busses and sports is first... could that be a reason???

I shy away from all the values due to room size and the garishness in general. Only go when I'm taking a kid between 5 - 10, and only if they're all jazzed about it. The kids never pick music. It is sports or movies.

So, that's that.

I think that the Movies is the most popular for families with young children and then the Sports just seem to appeal to teenagers etc. The Music seems to be a bit more laid back. I really enjoyed my stay there in 2005, in fact I will be staying there again this Dec.
I do think that with the family suites that the Allstar Music has become more popular with larger families.
The cost of the value resorts are generally the same rate per night. However, the difference in the final cost may have something to do with the county in which the resort is located, one of the counties has a lower tax rate.

Thanks for your review. I am really hoping to like ASMu since I am staying there in August. I have a feeling it is one of those resorts that doesn't get alot of praise. I am hoping it's a bit of a hidden treasure!

I don't think folks shy away from the values or AS. I think alot of families stay there because they are so Disney themed.

I was thinking along those same lines and tried to book ASMu for a quick weekend getaway in September. Looking at the photos of the resort, I like that it seems to have more landscaping than the other values, and also that it actually has some shade by the pools. Unfortunately, it was not available for our trip, so I guess we'll have to try it out another time!

Now problem with ASMu with Me and DW last Sept. Though we were only there early morning for breakfast and coffee and late at night for a soda. We would have stayed there again this Sept. but got a chance to get into POP so just wanted to try something different.
Take a walk around movie with your camera lots of great pictures of the themed resorts.
When you see some of the pictures on the web it looks like only the resorts buildings but there are a lot of palm trees and flowers.
Have a great time :thumbsup2

I know this is a little off topic but where is the fountain pool (previous poster mentioned it OT? )

We are staying in Mighty Ducks but have been told Music is just across the road and quicker to bussing?

Thanks

We stayed at the Music in 2003 and the Movies in 2005. I liked the Music better. I love all the flowers.:thumbsup2 Every morning we had to walk through a rose garden and the smell was unbelevable:thumbsup2 I always had to stop and smell the roses and see how many new blooms there were. I also liked the food court better there too.

Thanks for posting the pictures! It makes me really wish I was there now.

As far as mentioning fountains in the pools, I was referring to the water pistols that are squriting water. Maybe not a true fountain, but a nice/fun addition.

I'm glad to hear other folks like ASMu. I think we will be staying there this October. We were in Broadway the last time and we loved the theming!

My Ds and his best friend will love that! It is not far from Mighty Ducks building either. Thanks for the information.

are the beds at ASMu double or queens?

The beds in the standard rooms of values and mods are doubles.
The mods and values also have king rooms but the King rooms only sleep 2 persons and are often handicapped accesible rooms. The standard rooms with 2 doulbles sleep 4 persons.

The Family Suites at All Star Music has a QUEEN size bed in the master bedroom area.

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) last Sept. (2006)

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no meatle bar to hurt the sleepers back.
