Just confirming, since I am double guessing myself (June travel)

We are going for only 2 days in June, either 13-14 or 16-17. The first two are two of the last non-blacked out days for So Cal APs for the summer, plus WOC is supposedly scheduled to open June 11. Something tells me this is going to be PACKED!!! The 16-17th are both Grad nights and thus early closing and possibly no nighttime shows (although it sounds like fireworks may go off early those nights)

I am leaning towards the later dates due to crowd levels and figuring that being at DL the entire day open to close will be the best bet. We have already accepted that WOC is not going to happen this trip since with a short trip we don't want to spend hours waiting for a space!

Does this sound like the best plan?

Any information regarding a date for WoC is based on rumor. Therefore, in my way of planning, I would not plan too much based on it. What if you use that as your key planning date and it opens a week later? Or earlier?

So, given that...

Sometimes, Grad night days can be great. People avoid them because of the shorter hours, so the Park is not as crowded. However, as you already know, you miss out on some evening fun.

If the 13th-14th are the days right before block out days (I didn't check), you are probably right - it will be busy. However, by then, many schools are already out so the Park will be in summer mode already crowd-wise.

Basically you need to decide if you would rather hope for lower crowds with less hours to do everything or go for longer days and just plan to have fun amongst the crowds.

Personally, I think it will be busy both sets of dates. I would pick whichever works better in your life schedule - unless nighttime is important to you. In which case, you have your answer: 13th & 14th.
